My friend in the call said something about duo lane mids becoming the next meta.. honestly I have no idea how he got that..

but honestly I would't mind.. just gotta find something that can outdo the other bottom lane for it to really be a meta change..

I can see a juggarnaut probably being able to 1v2. What else?

Where would be the ADC? Support would always be with the duo lane.. Would the support now support an APC? or maybe a juggarnaut and a support?

I guess it's all about.. thinking of the current meta and finding a crack in it you can chizzle away at.

The crack?

Maybe the fact we now have an marksman in the jungle... Kindred But what else could you exploit?

Is not that meta changes "just because", there is a reason for it.

The point of the game is destroying turrets, inhibitors, and then the nexus. In order to do so you must have the tools to do it efficently, one of them is capitalize the enemy death timer and take everything possible out of them. Marksmans scale naturally well with damaging items because, thanks to their range, they can afford to not equip defensive items. Since they do not need to equip defensive items, they are good at bringing down turrets.

Being ranged usually means having a weakness, mostly to ganks, and the necessity of building very offensive means that the champion itself must be safeguarded from others. So we have supports.

Now, a pair of a marksman and a support could go eventually anywhere. Since the carry needs items to work well ( any carry, from early to late game ) they need to go in a lane. Mid lane was the best for a while in season 1 for solo ADCS since it had the quickest influx of creeps, but is not always optimal since you have to keep it pushed: is quite easy for the wave to reach the tower if left unattended, and most of times Masksmans do not have waveclear ( and is in fact considered a strong thing for them, along with hard CCcs ). Plus you have three team mates that still need a place to go. One can go to the jungle and the other two, if mid is theorically occuped by the duo lane, will have to go to the sides basically acting as two top laners. But probably you don' t want two top laners, some champions like mages need a strong influx of gold and xp to work well and might be more confortable on the mid lane structure since they need only a brief stun or a flash to escape from a gank. So, since to the carry does not matter that much in the end ( it still has the support behind to protect him, and needs more gold than Xp ) they have to go in a side lane.

Of all the side lanes, Bot is the most intresting one: after a successful gank, the laners and the junglers can pick up the dragon quite easily and immediately, or maybe get the tower and facilitate successive dragon fights. This does not happen in Top since baron isn' t there.

many things can happen to change this: for example, it can surge the need to have a "mid laner" that is not too much item dependant and shove it to bot, like having a second top laner ( keeping the dragon contested by the duo mid lane, that however can hardly leave the lane without having the enemy mid laner shove and get to the tower ). Another thing might be having turrets receiving reduced damage from ranged champion attacks, thus expanding more place for other means of sieging and making melee carries more intresting ( we already have likes of Tryndamere and Master Yi that can shred a turret, but that mostly happens in splitpush scenarios while a siege scenario is where the enemy is actively defending the turret). Still, the acotrs change but the structure remains the same.

Some Marksmans are played midlane today, time ago even in top, but if you look them better you can see that they are not quite like ADCs: one example is Varus that builds Muramana, that he would never build while carry; this because serves a different purpose, which is not dealing a ton of dps but sieging the enemy and waveclear thanks to his Q, and needs AD and mana for that.

As you can see, even posing deep changes the structure remains the same, because the request is the same: destroy the enemy base. Even Mordekaiser, which is quite eclectic, does the same by bringing the dragon.

correct me if i am wrong, i am a silver scrub but i guess i quite got it.

The meta I hate is the juggernaut meta...
