Changed support items

Hello, this is OpenSheep[1] (League ign), I have been playing since season 1, and have aproximatly 2500-3000 ranked games. Right now Riot is saying that they are going to put an emphasize on diverse gameplay for the new season. While I do doubt that they will diversify the meta to attempt to rival dota, I do have one suggestion that will break the lanes up while not breaking the meta.

For those who were around for the beginning of season 4, besides black cleaver people will remember the new support items introduced (Spell theif, Relic Shield, Coin). HOWEVER relic shield was slightly changed and it made a big difference in how it was used. They cut down on the gold generated from the item and cut down on the health granted from the heal. They also made it so ranged adcs could not activate the relic shield's instant kill. Preseason 4 item "Costs 365 Gold +50 Health +6 Health Regen per 5 seconds UNIQUE Passive - Spoils of War: Basic attacks execute minions below 200 Health. Killing a minion heals the nearest allied champion for 2% of your maximum Health and grants them the bounty plus 5 Gold. These effects require a nearby allied champion. Recharges every 30 seconds. Max 2 charges."

By buffing relic shield it could be made to have double lane top viable, before the relic shield was too op but now with the strong jungling items that give large bonuses to different play styles it is just right. In addition it adds another choice to team role decisions, do you have two top and no jungle? Do you have the adc solo lane and two top? I believe that it would be a good choice, especially if they change the other support items around to promote more specialized roles. Maybe changing coin so it has base movement speed bonus to allied champs, and spell theif so it actually stole gold(?). Plus an additional support item which increased the attack damage of the support and increased the damage dealt to towers (if they have not csed in a min).

Before now Riot has gone and nerfed some things which changed the meta (ex. proxy singed, ap trynd) I am not saying that they were not over powerful (especially ap trynd), but they did not deserve as hard as a nerf they got. They promoted different play styles from the standard farm-> fight, or trade->fight->farm.

It wasn't nerfed because of meta reasons, it was nerfed because it was just so good: rather short cooldown to proc, gave a good amount of gold to both players, gave really good sustain. On top of having decent Tank stats as well. Either top duo or bot duo lanes, it was just too amazing that either you had to do it as well as the other team (which you may have a not too useful summoner spell early game) or the lane that didn't go that route would just be unable to keep up with their sustain.

Basically, it forced everyone to build it, and that's not good.
