Dynamic Queue System is Broken and People are Abusing it

Divient··77 votes·8,240 views

Dynamic queue has nothing to do with individual skill. People just queue up with 3-4 of their friends or good players and whoever has the better communication or dynamic partners win the game, it has nothing to do with how good the players are.

Solo queue was so much better and it really demonstrated accurate skill level when being matched up with other players but now everything is bullshi*. Why am I facing 2 golds, a silver 1 and 2 other plats against diamonds and high plats? How is that even balanced but of course the jinx was dynamic with the fizz and alistar and darius was duo with kha'zix but how is this even balanced???

This is why the system is broken

I just love sitting top lane under my turret and immediately get dove by 3-4 people as least two times. How is there any counter play to this? Its like Im playing solo against a lcs team, its definitely not fair and has ruined my experience. I used to climb exceptionally well when the season started and worked my way up to diamond 3 and once they added dynamic queue, at first I got demoted here and there and managed to get diamond 3 about 5 times but now I am struggling and went back down to diamond 5 and cant climb anymore, Im stuck. I am literally stuck, I cant get any streak going other than a loss streak, I keep facing these dynamic players and getting **** on because they camp me relentlessly with 3 players or do cheesy strategies that solo queue players couldn't even do.

All the pros hate dynamic queue, why cant you bring back solo queue and give what the people want. The system was great back then but now its complete shi*. People abuse this system to get easy freelo and climb to diamond 1, master or challenger just from dynamic duoing with eachother. Its not fair to anybody and its blatantly obvious that people are ending up at these high elos when they shouldn't be. It is ruining ranked in league.

I also have to add, I faced 3 members of Apex Gaming which is a new lcs team replacing Dignatas and it consisted of Keane, Police, and Eve and another challenger player cause they were dynamic queue in when they were on their smurfs climbing to challenger around diamond 4 elo and they swamped my teammates like it was nothing and guess what, they never lost in the match history after 30 games. That would have never happened if it was solo/duo queue.

League was fine when you had to make a team with your friends and then play rank. It was fine when you could only play by yourself cause it showcased your skill and why you're at that elo and how hard you can carry if your good enough to get out of that elo. Now its ridiculous and solo players in dynamic queue cant even win at all anymore and it has really impacted solo que players like myself. What is the point of even having the "Create your team" option anymore if it is only for 3v3's?

Riot dynamic queue is a huge fuc* up. I know people want to be able to play with their friends and all but I'm experienced enough playing these games to tell you this is ruining league of legends for what it was. People should only play with friends only if they want to make a team together so that it doesn't involve your solo que rank which is your individual skill level playing with other individuals working as a team to win the game.

Here's the cold hard truth no one wants to hear. Riot no longer wants to make this game "personal skill". They want team skill. Now before someone points out the mastery system, it's not required to climb. It's only to reward you for doing well. It's not there to say "hey don't do well and u will be a total loser!" it's there to say "Hey, since you did really well with your team, here's a reward!"

As someone who doesn't have friends who play League and has to solo queue ranked, I have essentially been alienated by Riot. It's the most disheartening thing I've ever encountered in a long time.

As someone who solos 100% of the time, I never felt alienated by Riot. That's like saying you were betrayed by your teacher because she gave another group treats for working well together.

DREADN0UGHT17 votes

while penalizing you for working alone.

My Waifu Vanilla3 votes

There is no penalty for playing alone. You don't gain less LP than a premade does. You both gain the same 15-25 based on MMR and such.

DREADN0UGHT6 votes

The LP you gain is no longer based on the enemy team's MMR, but rather your own. Meaning that if you have, lets say, a ghost MMR of 1200 in Silver 1 (Roughly 1400-1500), you will lose 25 LP per loss and win 15 or less for a win, regardless of who you play against.

That being said, its easy to tank your MMR if you play against and lose to 3-4 man premades in a consistent way. And this is why DynQ is not functional as it currently is.

Would you pitch a couple or random soccer players you fetched from cities around your own vs a full team that regularly plays community tournaments? I thinks its obvious to say there is going to be much more consistency in the premade team's winning rate over time.

Or take this other sports analogy: you like to go to the ice rink every evening after work to play some hockey with strangers from the neighbor. Usually, things are pretty fair, sometimes you get this group of 3-4 kids that like to show up and maybe they win more often. Who cares, its a casual game anyway. But then you participate in a local tournament with your team: The Boosted Nerds, and you are facing this other team: The Feeders. But wait, the feeders have a brand new member on their roster! Semi professional left winger, plays for the Bulldogs of Montreal! He joined them for a couple of games in your petty community league.

How is that fair?

I don't hate everything about DynQ, as a matter of fact I think it was a good idea. I like that you can get your roles, I like that you can play with more than 1 friend, but I think there should be balance in how 3 and 4 man premades are matched.

Riot hosts a very competitive game, and the point of playing ranked matches is to mesure yourself to other competitive players. If the dice are stacked against you because you don't have duo partners, how is that fair?

That analogy makes no sense in any respect.

It is more like the teacher said anyone can group up to do their test but you didnt have anyone to group with...then the teacher gave extra credit for every person doing the test...but on top of that you were also graded against that group based on how well they tested together.

Actually there isn't really a way for that analogy to even fully make sense the more I attempt it.

DefNotABot5 votes

The better analogy would be to say you transferred school districts and tried to join the baseball team. And when the captains are picking you are the last one to get picked because nobody's played with you before so they picked all the best players they knew. Then you get stuck in whatever position gets the least action so no matter how good you are (or bad), you're pretty much reliant on your team to win/lose for you. Afterwards, the parents all take the kids out for ice cream but you're not invited cuz nobody knows who you are and nobody wants to be your friend cuz you didn't do anything al lgame

I solo almost all the time and I have no problem carrying my team most of the time. What I see most of the time in lower elo in people are to scared to play proactive and aggressive and they just play to let things happen to let them which should not be the case. That's why those dives and things happen from premades

warmcorntortilla2 votes

There is no way you are watching the same games I am because low elo games the bloodiest, most aggressive, stupid games you can witness. If it's not a complete stomp and an ff @ 20 sort of deal, the finished scores are usually 50-60 or something ridiculous like that. Like, more than a death a minute. Trust me, I know-- I am the low elo player. item 3070

I hear you, the number of times I see the bronze "flash under the turret for a kill" maneuver, I know that A) they wont get the kill and they just wasted flash and may feed a kill to the turret fire, and B) they just wasted flash, and the enemy jg will be camping their lane for the next 6 minutes fishing for kills.

Aggressive he says, hell I see baddies play like angry hornets some games. Dives happen from premades because the can coordinate them... where the solo player who isnt in voice chat like the premade is cant coordinate.

Let him be though, hes trying to argue that its play-style thats the losing disadvantage for solo vs premade and thats pretty delusional.

Same. All my friend that were left gave up before even doing placements this season and have found other things to do. Not one of my friends have longed in since preaseson, and there were only 2 left anyways.

If I want to play ranked...which Ive since given up on for weeks now, Im solo going as the only other two I had friended were high plat.

"Thankfully" Riot doesnt care about playera like us, aside from knowing they still need us to fill in the gaps for their premades.

Tell me about it.

I've spent $4,000 on this game, and i dont get a single word in this. At least with Jagex we got to vote weekly on what updates we would like to see and changes, like Oldschool mode coming, or "legacy" where they made that an option to play as on the main server, so you can play with your original character, like you could in old school.

Wish riot would do an official vote to see who would actually like this, the only people that do, are the ones who abuse it to get to plat/diamond.

VvVVvV1 votes

You dont need friends who play this game. I personally know no one on my friends list. I met them on the game. Its really easy to do. Just add people you just recently won with that you liked playing with. Then on your next game if you dominated or just like playing with others add them too then boom, u got a team of 5 people u like playing with and you like the way they play as a team.

Except, as with any other sport, while both are important it's the individual skill that sets players apart and takes the most work to cultivate.

There is no "being good at team" - people and personalities are far too diverse to assert any one method being universally better than another. There are, however, objective game skills, strategies, and mechanics dealing with the individual player and the game at large that will help make you a great team mate/asset that requires no actual "team" to develop.

I don't need to queue in with 4 people over voice to have map awareness, support my jungler when he gets ganked in our jungle, respond to pings, rotate mid to counter the enemy's movements, or any other of a million things that would make me a good team player. Having instant communication through voice is only valuable once people have mastered the "basics" of mechanical gameplay and strategy.

It's like saying the best way to be a professional basketball player is to join little league instead of practicing your jump shot four hours a day

Its a joke. this games ranking ladder has become a joke and its actually the laughing stock of the moba genre. Go take a look on Dota and Smite forums, they actively make fun of this games ranking system.

That's not just sad, its downright pathetic.

Divient4 votes

I know what you mean. I have Smurfs and silver, gold and plat was so easy to carry as a solo player but now when I play in those elos, I can't even win. It used to be super easy to play in but It is so hard to carry now and I mean really hard to carry cause every game it's constant 1v3 or 1v4 and it's not fair. I can't even win in plat anymore. Even high Elo players will get stomped if they were solo facing an entire team who was all low Elo in dynamic.

But good luck in your series!

Packun Flower4 votes

thanks but I had nothing but feeders on my team in both games. As to be expected.

Jorencice1 votes

Wrong.

Know someone in high master tier who got their playing solo. He's played against teams just fine

Teams aren't all l33t shot calling masters I'd say 90% of them are just random people dicking around for fun. If anything premades actually pay less attention to the game.

DefNotABot5 votes

That's part of the problem. Ranked was originally the measure of your skill. Now it's just a bunch of people trying their hardest/boosting their friends and the other group are just dicking around and ruining it for the soloq players who want to advance. Dynamic queue is being abused so badly in high elo that Riot actually had to change the system in the last patch to make sure challengers and high diamonds couldn't boost unfairly and even then, its still an issue. Saying that you know one person is doing fine when everyone else is suffering is like saying you don't need to look both ways before you cross the street because you didn't get hit last time you did it

lolptwo5 votes

Diamond 3 player here Divent, I agree with you 100%.

Also on top of what you said. Now you will lose MORE LP because you're being punished for facing against smurfs with lower MMR accounts.

In addition, yes low elos Solo Q players are etnernally fucked.

Well hope everyone enjoys playing with the "new generation of 12year olds" because they will turn this game into Minecraft age wise because all Grandfather'd players are jumping ship.

You not getting to play jungle over support....has NOTHING to do with Dynamic Queue.

It has everything to do with people not wanting to play support, and choosing not to in the new champ select as you choose your role.

Dynamic Queue is pretty clearly in the name. It is a queue where the amount of people in a premade is dynamic, and queue up together dependent on that dynamic amount from 1 to 5. It has NOTHING to do with your role. That is a completely different typing of queuing.

How is THAT so hard to understand?

Literally all dynamic queue is doing is letting your premade be more than 2 people. This has nothing at all to do with any other aspect of anything when you click the play button.

You're mad 'cause the other team is communicating better than you with the randoms you queue with. Maybe instead of whining and complaining, you could just learn how to play the game the way those teams that are beating you do it. Than make it mandatory to play as 5.

Whats in common in sports? Whenever the game start, the game is LEVELED. Which means EVERYONE have access to the same tools as everybody else. However since voice comms isn't part of League officially for some reason, whenever you get a "Voice" team vs. a non-"Voice" team, you know so immediately.

You can't make a competitive environment that suppose to take itself seriously and demand them to use external tools just to keep the game leveled. In any other sport, that's cheating. In league, it's a standard.

Exactly right.

If Riot wants this to be a sport then the answer is more structure, not less.

They should be looking at building on the ranked 5v5 teams, perhaps arranging some kind of massive tournament or competitions in which these teams could compete. The goal here should be to motivate people to organize their own teams, to practice and compete, not to try and force everyone to queue with friends.

Making the game mandatory to play as 5 is just ranked 5's. We had that last season. I miss it dearly. Dynamic queue is something different entirely though. Get used to it or play something else.

What tools are you talking about that everyone has access to in regular sports? Some teams are richer than others and can afford to bid more for the good players, they have better equipment, more staff on hand to assist players, better coaches, etc. Remember Rocky 4? Ivan Drago has all this state of the art equipment to help him train, meanwhile Rocky is running around in the snow, lifting rocks and chopping wood. Things weren't equal and fair but did he complain? No, he made due with what he had, and then he went out there and won the fight anyway. Drago even took steroids and Rocky still beat him! What do you think he'd say to you right now if he caught you whining like this? He'd be ashamed of you.

ROFL. So first, nice example from a FICTION movie. LOL, nice one dude.

Second, having voice vs no voice in league is about equal to playing basketball and having one of the teams having a shorter 3-point line or a lower basket. It's more closer to cheating than anything.

Third, Rocky is a boxer. Last time i checked boxers are being evaluated as themselves. In TEAM sports, you are being evaluated as a team. And in league you play as team but being evaluated as an individual. Because fuck logic.

And lastly, having voice not being offered officially is the biggest double standard I've ever seen. We are being lectured constantly about how we don't need any external software and then this happens.

It did have problems, but a lot of the complaints were about bad duos. The pure solo queue that was advertised solves that issue.
