A champ who can go full tank.. Spirit visage chain vest, giants belt and do stupid damage where 3 of us cant even kill me. Not because he's to tanky, but he does crazy damage with his bite and all. And not to mention he doesn't die with his stupid passive. Usually full tanks don't do a lot of damage and just take it. But nah, this champ can take it, and do damage. Good one rito. Even above 50% win rate. Ggez

It is 2016 and people still think Volibear is a tank?

Actually, why cant LoL players tell the difference between a tank and a bruiser?

They seem to believe that durability is the only identifying quality of a tank.

Then again, the majority of players are in Bronze and Silver and aren't exactly known for their game knowledge.

Voli has among the worst base stats of all "tanks", the only thing he has going for him is his passive. He doesn't even provide the hard utility that proper tanks provide, he can flip a single person but he can't knockup or snare your hole team. Kiting wrecks his day. Also, he's not really played that often and pretty much never in competitive, this has it's reasons.

Just because a champ is above 50% winrate doesn't mean they are OP, Voli has a fairly small and dedicated playerbase.

Also, his lategame scaling is more or less nonexistent, since he has no defensive steroids,. The only really good scaling he has is that of his bite and this is entirely cohingent on him not falling behind and affording to buy those crucial hp stacking items, any voli that falls behind is dead wheight since unlike true tanks, he melts so easely under focus fire, passive or no.

While his secondary might be tank, he's actually more of a fighter, like Jax, Mundo etc.

That would be because Volibear isn't a tank, he's a fighter.

Nautilus typically has issues against durable and damage-oriented champions (i.e. Volibear, Mundo, Olaf, etc). You picked a champion with little damage and high-CC against a damage-oriented fighter; you were basically counter-picked.

Anyways, champions like Volibear typically crush lower-ELOs since they don't know how to properly kite or play against them. I would recommend watching a few pro players to see how they play against them at all stages of the game.

If you think full tank Voli is OP, wait till you see a jungle Voli with SD, the double ulti every other AA is pro.
