Primary Role Dropbox in Champion Selection

I tend to jump into games not knowing what role I want to fill or which champion I want to use. In champion select I then search for champions suited to my role and find I don't really want to play as ANY OF THEM, so I choose anyone and begin. As soon as the game starts I remember so many champions I could have gone as that I didn't pay attention to, or simply scrolled past in champion select. This gave me an idea:

Why can't there be a Primary Role Drop Box on Champion Select like the one on the Champions section in the Profile area? I would be so much easier to choose your champion according to the role you were given and to find the perfect counter picks against the enemy team. This way, all your champions are filtered in a more organised manner and it makes life a lot easier not needing to search for a Support in a sea of Mages, Assassins, Marksmen, Fighters and Tanks.

I really feel this could improve the game, despite the change being relatively small, and, along with this, perhaps other drop boxes that filter the champions in ways the players prefer!
