Losing Ranked

Hi guys!

My apologies if this is in the wrong topic. I wanted to talk about ranked. I have been trying to play ranked this new season and for me it's really hard to get into it. You probably wonder why, but the reason is that so far I have lost all these games. I'm not sure if it's me, I'm pretty sure it's mostly me, but I have been having really bad luck with teammates. I encountered a lot of afk people and toxic people and people that try but end up having a bad game. I'm not sure how I do it, but I lose the whole time! It's starting to get a little bit frustrating, and I came here for some advice. How do I help myself win the lane, do well in teamfights and win the game. I know people say, if you have a losing streak, take a break. I have the feeling that doesn't really help me, because after watching a movie or the next day, I end up losing again.

Please help a desperate ranked player!

I have been trying a lot of adc currently and getting stomped. I am making lots of bad decisions and just not a mechanically strong player. After going 2-8 in placements and dropping out of gold into bronze 1 I decided its time to go back to my roots. Starting to play jungle again. Its the most impact role currently and I know a large part of the game is how much I outplay the enemy jungler. I have been winning a good chunk of my jungle games and starting my climb back to gold.

Adc is a low impact role early in the game. I personally feel adcs are rather weak right now unless you play and are good with adcs such as Vayne Twitch Jinx maybe Jhin (although have to really on your team since your so immobile). I don't really play any of those adcs ecept jhin, and I am currently 1-4 with him. I know that doesn't mean much but in 4 of the 5 games I was super fed off lane but we still ended up losing because either poor decisions/positioning by me along with constantly getting dove by the enemy and getting hardly any peel from my teammates.

Not saying you can't play adc, just I believe it is a weak role right now unless you are mechanically good and play one of the high win rate adcs. This is personal opinion and not a fact so I am sure others may disagree.

I think ultimately its just about playing a role with a couple of champs you enjoy and feel confident in. Then just go into each game trying your best to help your team win. Try to build off what you do well and improve on your play and think about the mistakes you make. Eventually you will get back on a winning streak I would think.

Thank you!

The champ I feel most comfortable with is Jinx, but even with jinx my games switch a lot. It's either 20/1 or 4/10. I feel like, teammates make a game whole. People say, without a good jungler you can't win, without a good support you can't win. Support carries the game. But I know, that it doesn't matter which role is best. If we're all equal to each other, and we all help each other out. Then that's called teamplay. If one role gets good kills, good for them. But a lot of kills do not mean that you're good. Sometimes you end up lucky. You're a good player when you help each other out and you're friendly towards each other. And for me that's hard to find lately in the ranked games.

First it's best to understand your champion pool and your role. That way people can get a better idea on what tips to give.

Though if you want something that can win (or survive) lane and help in teamfights, I'd suggest looking at mages and tanks as they are the solo laners with the most utility.

I mostly play adc, after that mid and after that support. As adc I play as Jinx, Vayne and Tristana. Jinx is my main, so if I first pick I always pick her. For midlane I pick Ahri, Syndra, Lux, Kayle and Katarina. And for support I pick Nami, Karma, Soraka and Sona.

I've been struggling too and know your pain. I've tried so many different champs and different roles. My biggest issue right now is the several games I've lost after completely and utterly dominating the first half. I just can't seem to get anyone to work as a team and understand the why's of lane pushing, tower taking and rotating and securing objectives.

Game after game I hear "oh look he's farming top again" after I V ping my idiot team who desperately want to 4v5 mid CONSTANTLY and engage the enemy without their entire team. For those who don't understand what pushing a lane means or does and gets mad at their teammates for doing so please allow me to explain. If you PUSH a lane, and I mean push not just clear the wave, then your minions stack up. The more they stack the harder they push until eventually the enemy team will either lose the tower in that lane or someone is forced to split and take care of it. This also DENIES TONS OF CS to the enemy as their minions are constantly banging into a tower.

There are much better and easier ways to win the game than simply running down mid.

Yes! it's all about the teamplay, people tend to forget that sometimes. If you push your lane top, and 2 people come to take care of you. That's when mid should engage! :D
