Hey guys, so iv'e been playing a lot of games to earn those key fragments and chests, iv'e received a chest and 2 key fragments from myself and people that earn that S after the game! I don't understand how i cant receive anymore when i'm getting an S and my team members can get the fragments ! So confusing ! Is there a time limit or something on how many you can earn?? Help !
Hethalean1 votesI'm under the impression that key fragments do not necessarily have a time limit to getting the keys per se. Here is my understanding which comes a lot from this reddit post:

My understanding was that key chance drops as you collect keys. Your point sounds like key chance drops as time progresses.
i.e. if I'm on vacation the first 3 weeks on the month, my key chance should still be really high on week 4, not low because it's the end of the month. Or is that what you meant?
Hethalean1 votesSure thing, I probably misspoke about the month thing. I know that the drop chance resets on a month basis. You are correct in assuming that your chance should still be really high on week 4. At least it should be.
For instance, you should start off getting key fragments every 3 games (let's just say. those are probably not actual numbers). Then once you get a key or two, the system will drop the chance down to a key fragment every 6 games, etc, etc. This should reset on the 1st of the month so you don't get to the point where you need 100 games to get a key fragment (unless you REALLY love league, and play it very consistently in the month like the champion you are ;))
Hethalean1 votesThat being said. I have only gotten 4 key fragments and they already seem exceedingly rare. I am forced to wonder if the drop % is additionally linked to day in the month. So your drop rate lowers with time in the month and # key fragments earned.
ValyrianBlade1 votesI hope not. I've gotten 6 fragments so far (but 5 chests). I was getting them really often but they're seeming more rare. I haven't played much overall though.
It would suck if it was linked to day of month, as people who can't really spam a bunch of games at the start of the month would have difficulty gathering keys.
Hethalean1 votesNot getting keys on a loss is unfortunate as well. As sometimes, I just go on a losing streak. Haha I guess that I'm not good enough for free stuff ;)
