There should be a Ranked ARAM. I mean there is ranked 3v3 now, so why not?

There has always been a ranked 3v3...

Downvoting this doesn't make it any less true. There always has been. Also 3v3 is more comparable to 5v5 than aram, so not really a selling point.

To the OP, the issue with ranked ARAM is the very nature of it itself. It's based on randomly getting a team comp and making do with it. First off, to balance it, it would have to use every champion for the champion pool to get rid of those that actually do bother making aram accounts.

Nope. Although ranked 3 v 3 has existed in the past, they got rid of it at one point and brought it back.

It wasn't that they got rid of it, if you're referring to last season. They simply put it on the same schedule as 5v5 teams which did a number on ranked 3v3. It never should have been shoved into that to begin with considering there was no solo ranked option.

That is basically 'getting rid of it'.

Guess how fast it came out compared to 5 v 5 ranked?

Don't nit pick me buddy.

No in your little world you think of it as that. I prefer fact versus heavily swayed opinions. It made it as difficult for 5 player teams to play as it did for 3's.

'Heavy swayed opinions'.

You decided to completely ignore it in context and attack a strawman. Good talk though. I know your not worth talking to.

I ignored nothing, simply corrected your error, just as I did now again. Have a nice day. :)

They have never gotten rid of it. Last season it was just on a scheduled time of availability.

The champ pool thing is an implementation detail, not something intrinsic to ARAM. It's like arguing that ranked SR can't work because blind pick doesn't have bans or drafting.

Furthermore, adapting to random team comps is itself a skill. It's a similar situation to competitive card games (e.g. poker). Reroll frequency could also be adjusted for more mulligan opportunities.

You misunderstood. The point I was making was the idea that ARAM accounts couldn't cherry pick champions to get a leg up. I could care less in normal arams, but if there was a ranked version it would need to be fair and truly random.

Ah, my mistake.

Plus it puts people out of their comfort zones so it goes to show rank based on all around teamwork and team fight skills. As well as the champion being played. I don't know, it was just a thought.

My bad, I guess I just didn't play it/notice it.

The point was more about the ranked aram :P

Lol, no.

I feel like I'm better in ARAM sometimes than on Summoners Rift so it would be cool to show that. Plus, skill level doesn't necessarily translate to a win. Especially keeping the random champion format.

It could keep the same format, but maybe everyone is only allowed 1 reroll instead of having to earn them. No one wants to be stuck with >>Nunu

The problem with Ranked aram is that you can get hosed right off by a bad team comp, by someone getting a champ they have no clue how to play. Ranked is a measure of your skill at the game, in aram someone said it best " skill level doesn't necessarily translate to a win " , but that is what ranked is all about, who has the more skillful team.

Minarde2 votes

Except all of that also applies to ranked SR. Yes, ranked is a measure of skill, but it's about measuring who is consistently skilled, not about the more skillful team. Ranked is about demonstrating skill over a large number of games (which is why you can't end higher than Plat 1 or whatever from placements). Both ranked SR and TT follow that philosophy, so it's ridiculous to claim that exact same idea precludes ranked ARAM.

Likewise, the concept that "skill level doesn't necessarily translate to a win" isn't exclusive to ARAM. You can easily lose because someone got a matchup they have no clue how to play. Imagine throwing a Plat player into a bunch of games with/against Golds. The Plat's obviously more skilled, yet almost certainly won't have a 100% winrate against the Golds.

I don't play ranked yet but your argument is sound, Ranked should be a measure of skill and experience, where as being totally honest aram is mostly blind luck, And I would never claim that a ranked aram could be based on the same concept as ranked SR or TT because aram by it's nature is completely different

But the thing is, if its set up where everyone automatically gets 1 reroll, you could most likely figure out someone to trade with or whatever to get a more comfortable champion for you.

But also it measures your ability to adapt which i believe is important in league of legends.

have you played aram where you reroll and get a worse champ to play, the problem is aram is mostly based on random luck ( champ selection and team comp ) then it is skill. Ranked is mostly about proving consistent skill.

The problem is people don't want ranked Aram while supporting zomg pro mlg gaming auto-fill, which I find hilarious.
