Why am I facing against Level 30's and 2 silvers when I'm still level 23?

Just played a game today where everything seemed normal, until the kill score quickly turned to 0-8 in about 10 minutes. Suspicous, i check their lolking profiles, and their team was full of all levels 30's, some of them even silver, and..... a level 10. While our team had level 18, 23, 16, 25, and a bronze. How is this right? I think the level 10 was there in a party with the level 30s and silvers, so they could play with level ~25s. We were getting stomped so hard and the match quickly got dull. How does the matchmaking allow this? (Team builder btw, learning jungle rengar)

If your team has a duo-queue with a level 30 and a level 18, you'll be queued up against a team that has a level 30 and a less-than-30 player. Matchmaking will make it as close as possible within a 2.5 minute queue time, but there's only so much waiting that can happen. Bad luck on your part, that's all to get queued with the duo-queue team.

I do this, in order to play with friends who are new to the game. I always feel bad when I stomp a team and find out after that they were all sub-level 20, but the only other option to play with friends who aren't level 30 yet is bots. And bots are...well, bots.

It could mean that you're win loss record is on par with lvl 30's , or that the lvl 30's are just really bad so they are paired with lower levels

bronce are just silvers with bad luck. they deserve challenjour, bad teem mates just get them stuck in elo hell. gg

I haven't been ranked yet because I'm worried about being bronze. Last year I was silver division, but this year I have been paired with people around Bronze 5 skill level. They didn't do to well, and sometimes fed.
