Players with ULTRA HIGH pings allowed to play?

Please, someone enlight me - howcome people with >200 ping are allowed to find a match and (try to) play it?!

Imho, Riot shouldn't allow people with such pings to play matches. Pretty much 3/5 of the matches I loose are related with people constantly d/c due to high latency, because that has consequences for the whole team. It makes a game pretty much "un-enjoyable" and un-rewarding.

I'm pretty sure this was a discussed topic somewhere in the past, but apparently nothing has been done about and I think someone should.

Thanks,

People should be allowed to play with high ping. People like this will have a mmr matching how well they can do with their high ping.

yea, because you cant ban a player from playing due to their internet/computer. like i said its basically discrimination. you can however make minimum requirements to run the game at a stable level, but you cant ban someone from your product. this guy is basically asking riot to ban anyone with a ping over 200 from playing league lol.

Right, because people with ping north of that rarely contribute and often lose their team the game.

I agree, Riot should include a Max ping in their requirements for game play. Anything that exceeds the Max ping they set are only able to play vs bots.

On what grounds should they not be allowed to play exactly? If they lose games because of their ping their MMR will get lower and lower, until they reach a point where they can win games again.

Maybe you should raise your MMR to the point where you don't get matched with people who regularly have 200+ ping.

That makes little sense.

Uhm.. no. It makes perfectly sense?

You dont always loose with 200 ping. Also of people play like this and win their games without you even realizing. If you're used to it you can play to Gold, Plat or Dia without much problems. (As long as you're at a stable highping it's fiine.)

OFC if someone reaches Plat at a 200 Ping you can expect him to get Dia as soon as he gets a decent connection. But in the meantime - you have a Diamond-SkillLevel/-Decisionmaking player in a Plat-Game who just reacts a little slower than others is therefore just Plat.

I'll take your word for it, but I'm doubtful. And I don't know what the limit should be but there should be one and if a players ping is too high to be effective, that player should not be allowed to ruin other players games.

And I understand what your saying, I just don't agree.

I'm talking about unplayable, and while some maybe to play North of 200 most will be unable.

Why should those players be allowed to ruin others experience?

That's exactly my point. People with high latency ruin 3 out of 5 games, 'cause the rest of the team is unbalanced. Yesterday I had a match in which the supp was always d/c (meaning the bot was 2 vs 1 and sometimes 3 vs 1 when ganked) and my jgl was d/c every 2-3min.

To those who think everyone should be able to queu for a match, just think: would you like to be a part of such a team? 60% of your games are unbalanced - 4vs5.

Specially ranked games.

P.s.: 200 ping was just an example. I've seen people with >2k and people with < 15 fps.

Either that ping is rare for them, in which case that could have been the first game they played with that high of ping, or they have that ping regularly and it will pull their MMR down.

Seeing as how Riot still doesn't have a way for us to see our ping before we get in game (which would cut out the vast majority of players with ping issues) I'd say they should work on that first.

I'm failing to see how this would help most of the time. From what I've seen, most people who have high ping have it inconsistently. They can play dozens of games just fine before mid match the ping just tanks on them. These players would still be allowed to find games (because their ping was fine in the lobby) but then you'd still have your loss because they couldn't play at their peak.

Additionally, high ping sucks more for them than it does for you. You're both losing, but they're the ones that can't get their character to do what they tell it to.

I can think of tons of situational responses to high ping, but at the end of the day, high ping is bad for the person who has it and the team the player lands on.

I think it's reasonable, nay should be required, to have a stable connection and ping that does not prevent competitive play.

My duo partner last season got to D5 with around that ping. He plays from australia.

Because its discriminating against people with bad internet, and you cant do that. Thats like saying they shouldnt allow someone with windows xp to play their game. You cant discriminate and stop someone from doing something esp if your a business selling a product. thats basically racists.

I agree, if your ping is north of 200? They should grey out the ability to play ranked. And past a certain ping, should prevent normals. Until your ping is stable enough to actually play the game.

I'm not talking about high ping that can be played through. I mean I've heard players with 100 ping are able to play.

I'm talking about players who have so much ping they should not even attempt to play.

It's not discrimination if your ping is so high all you do is spam your high ping after every death. How is that enjoyable for anyone? Especially when you ruin everyone of your teammates game.

Had an ADC in my ranked game last night. Ping was north of 300. And all she did was come to lane and die.

I personally am of the mind if you don't have good internet you shouldn't play online games. But its such an iffy topic its rarely worth talking about since people go balistic. I usually praise when a company discontinues something outdated/too weak from a game. PS3 from ff14 is a good example. Outdated console was holding the game back so got the boot.
