RaRaNightmare··2 votes·943 views

So I was playing rank and we lost( I got 3/9/8 my support quit and afk). I was in my promos when I played then i suddenly only had 52 lp how does that work? losing 20 lp when i was 80 lp was fine cause it was normal but losing 48lp from promos is just heart breaking!!! Is this a bug or is this a normal thing? pls help

If you failed promos and ended up at 52 LP, this means you have low MMR for your rank. Though looking at your match history, this doesn't make complete sense.

You probably did play poorly, but a 48 LP loss off one game seems incredibly unlikely. I still don't think these numbers are quite right.

ohh ok so it does happen then... I was tilted cause it was my promos so I guess I played badly, but not that badly that I have to get 48 lp deduction sigh... but hey thanks for the info either way :D

Actually that was my only lose at promos... so basically I had 1 win 1 lose and that one lose dropped me to 52 lp

Check my reply if you're confused. He's either lying or just thought he was in a series.

ohhh yes when I last checked my league (✓- -) was there so I must not have been at promos... sorry my mistake

The way LP works is determined in part by your MMR (matchmaking rating).

  • If your MMR is higher than what is average for your ELO, you gain more LP per win, and lose very little -- and can skip tiers in a division.

  • If your MMR is on par, you gain and lose about the same.

  • If your MMR is lower than the average, you lose a lot more LP than you gain.

Your MMR is determined by a lot more than just KDA, it takes into account just overall performance in matches win or loss.

so even if I had 1 win and only lost 1 time at promos I can drop 42 lp? man I should have done better if i've known that. I thought it was just gonna be a 1 lose 1 win on my promo so was like f*ck it... feels bad man

Yeah, LP gain/loss can be tough, but just keep playing and eventually your MMR will level out, and you'll gain/lose ~20 per game.

Yah ill keep that in mind the next time I play ranks thank you

If you did any dodging, that'd explain missing LP as well as (according to other posts) why you're apparently not in a series despite only 1 loss. You lose LP when you dodge, plus dodges count as losses for series.

FUUUUUUU I DID DODGE 2 or 4 times I think... wish I knew that before hand. Thank you for this info!!!

The only way I see that being possible is your MMR being extremely lower than your rank indicates. But 48lp? You sure thats just from one loss? If its just from 2 games than it would be rather normal if your MMR is a bit low.

Yup just one game... i had my promos then it dropped me to 52 lp losing just one rank game

Stop building attack speed boots on graves and I think you still rush Youmuu's.

Also, I don't see why you're lying. Over the past month you've only played a few games.

25 days ago you had a Heimer game followed by 2 graves games. The first 2 games got you into the series and the 2nd graves game gave you A series win via promo helper.

Then, based on the rough LP win/loss of +22/-19, we can determine that following the 3 graves wins you'd be at 66. After the 2 losses (1/7/9 graves and the Lux game) you'd be at ~ 28 LP. You then won 2 games putting you at around 70-72 LP and the game you played tonight would've lost you around 18-20 LP, depending where you were in the 70-72 range (putting you at 52, where you are now). You did not lose 48 LP, that's literally impossible. What else is literally impossible is losing a series in one game, and judging by the fact that you're not in a series after that one loss means that you actually never were in that series.

I don't know if you're trying to fool a red into giving you a series/promo but you couldn't even fool me.

First off thank you for actually taking your time on researching my match history. Second even if I was hypothetically was lying(which im not) and get catapulted to promos then I will eventually go down if it is not really my level yet and even if i don't get instant promos I will eventually climb up if it was really my level! Third I already had the answer I needed which was provided to me by Sciela and LockeTheHunter. I only needed a clear answer on my question and not a fcking degrading analysis on it and making it seem like im trying to get easy promos. BTW I got demoted from division 1 to division 3, I got tilted and was so sad that I stopped playing ranks for a little while and decided that it was about time to try and climb again [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Climbing isn't hard, and I was going to edit my comment to give you benefit of the doubt but I mean, this entire community is filled with people trying to somehow get an advantage or cheat their way (cough- dynamic boost)

So, sorry for being condescending -- Just seemed very_ interesting_ that someone could mistake being in promos.. I was bored anyways, you told me to solve for _x _ and I had nothing better to do.

Ik where youre coming from. There are really a lot of players looking to go up the easy way and not actually earning it. At least now I know not to dodge because causes me lp. feels bad man

First dodge of the day is -3 LP and 6 minute wait. Every dodge afterwards is 10 LP and 30 minute wait. You basically get a free dodge a day because 3 LP isn't much, but be sure to not dodge at a bad time. Like if you're at 60 LP and you gain 20 a game I wouldn't dodge because if you win the next 2 games you'd be at 97 LP instead of a series, so just be careful you don't screw yourself.

Also, feel free to dodge, like don't be afraid. If your team is fighting already and the enemy team is "broken", just leave. -10 LP and 30 minute wait is not as bad as -20 LP and a 35 minute game where your team is just being abusive the whole time.
