Lissandra Support?

Yo! Wondering what you guys think about Lissandra Support obviously. Im thinking Lissandra doesnt need to do a lot of damage to win a team fight. Tried it out a couple games and it went really well ( 1 Ranked on accident, 1 Normals ) won both games

The idea is between her slow, root, stun, exhaust any gank from your jungler is pretty much guaranteed. ( Its why I love playing her Mid ) and then in team fights you can initiate with your E>R. Iron Locket and Zhonyas will keep you alive forever and Zekes will keep everyone around you perma slowed.

Heres a concept build. Havent gotten to test it yet because games have been ending too quickly.

Runes Red- Flat AP Yellow- Flat Armor Blue- Flat MR Quints - Mov Spd ( Liss is slow, helps trade more safely to proc your item 3303 )

Masteries 0/12/18 Taking Meditation & Bandit in Cunning and Courage of the Colossus in Resolve.

Build item 3027 is out because you need to finish item 3092 first, and by the time you complete item 3027 and stack it up the game will be over. Core item 3158 item 3092 item 3050 item 3190 item 3157

Situational item 3001 item 3152 item 3065 item 3116

Not sure about which order to build. Im thinking item 3092 >item 3157 > item 3050 /item 3190 Let me know what you guys think. -Acorn

The question is, why would anyone play Lissandra over the likes of Lulu, Zyra hell, even Morgana? They all offer CC, ap damage but aren't as item dependant as Lissandra.

The cons of playing her are: Relativley low range compared to like Lulu and Zyra, plus enormous mana costs and no access to a blue buff.

Lissandra has insane scalings on her abilities, so you gut her by playing her as a budget mage support who doesn't do his job as good as other mage supports with kits designed for being support.

Not sure what you mean by Item dependant or budget mage. Her biggest item in Mid lane is RoA, which your buying because you want HP/AP. Going Frostblade first shorts you the 40 AP, and you still get survivability through the rest of the items., but now you have more CC and map scouting potential.

I would choose her over Lulu because Lissandras kit nearly guarantees successful ganks with her lockdown capability ( as well as disengage if its a losing fight. Her R makes a slowing field around its target ), and over Morgana because her CC is more reliable. I've only played 3 games support so far. Goona keep testing but right now its got 100% win rate.

Sure, you can make her work, and I'd be the last person to say you should stop playing what you like to play. BUT she is niche. She offers nothing besides CC and some damage, but to get to the point where she hurts, she needs items, whereas Brand and Zyra do not, and Morgana and Lulu help keeping their carries alive while also offering CC and some damage.

It may work for you, but it isn't optimal. Keep it up.

morgana has more cc than lissandra and a spellsheild to go with it, coupled with instant tld procs and less item reliability.

Lissandra is just outclassed by morgana in every way

Lissandra's range is too short to work reliably in bot lane too.

Not every way. First of all they both have the same amount of CC, (Slow, Root, Stun) except Liss kit is more reliable. By that I mean Morgs root is a skillshot, and she has to maneuver it around minions. Liss can just Glacial path in and initiate whenever she wants. Morgs ult also has a Delay before it goes off, giving enemy laners room for counterplay, whereas Lissandras will go off instantly.

So the advantage is Morg has a spell shield, and her root leads to a safer combo. Also every champ is item reliant, and Zhonyas is a relatively cheap item.

NOT saying Morg isnt a great pick, im just saying theres pros and cons to both.

It's a fine niche pick. Not as efficient as some others, but it can be effective.

You're better off with Xerath support

More reliable slow to chase players, and can stun players.. both are essentially the same except xerath is farther ranged while lissandra can do things more at the mid range.

Havent thought of Xerath support before, but hes a champ who NEEDS to build full damage to be useful, and his entire kit is skill-shot based. Which is great if your on-point but if youre not landing those shots he becomes useless real quick.

No, it is awful. Like the guy above me said, just use Xerath support. Better poke, can actually be aggressive with poke with passive mana sustain and doesn't auto push the lane to do it.

I like your build, but here is mine: I rush item 2301 for the 10%, item 3158 and then item 3165 so you have 40% cdr and can engage/ defend from towerdive very often(and we all know Lissandra problems with mana). If the team needs AP I usually end with item 3030 (it gives almost the same stats as roa but doesn't require stacks plus useful active),item 3151 and item 3089 if the game is long enough. But as I said, I like your build and I'm looking forward to try it! (in ranked ofc) [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
