Giving Ivern a Helping Hand
The
green father might be my favorite champion in the game. His goofy appearance and support-carry-jungle role both led me to rack up over 120K in mastery points on this dumb stupid wacky green stick and in today's meta he isn't even worth the attention no one pays him. He has one of the lowest play rates and even when you go 0/0/23 no one honors you because the twitch is 12/2. My point is that he needs some love and I think I know just how.
The Best Iverns need to feel like they are playing differently then good Iverns. If a good ivern can sit on an adc with his Triggerseed, and a great ivern can too, where is this abilities skill exression? My personal favorite part of ivern's kit is Daisy!, and their are several ways this ability can be expressed better, without overloading her. DISCLAIMER: I understand If you take all of the changes I made to live, daisy would be op. Rather this is to create some outplay options, mostly derived from other mechanics already in the game.
Friend of the Forest
Starting at level 5, freeing the Red Brambleback or the Blue Sentinel leaves behind a sapling that can be picked up by an allied champion to gain the camp's buff, consuming it in the process. allows Ivern to cast Friend of the forest on an ally, enchanting them with a buff after chaneling for three seconds. If an ally kills either monster, they leave behind a buff that only Ivern can consume.
This ability lacks skill expression and relies on teammates to roam in order to be useful. Playing Ivern should feel like you are a one stop shop for utility while still mainting a gank heavy jungle style. This improvement means he can be a mana pool & red buff, along with his full kit, mobile utility, and daisy cc; he's got all but the dps to decide what happens in a lane or teamfight.
Rootcaller
Once per-level per life, Ivern can cast Rootcaller from Daisy. Ivern can only cast this ability off of daisy once for each level of his ult. That means a Daisy can cast Rootcaller three times at level 18, and with ult hat (which gives your ultimate 49% CDR), you can cast 3 rootcallers per minute minus 1 second.
Brushmaker Pasive: In addition to his basic attacks becoming ranged in brush, Daisy! gains rock throw, and her next attack is a targeted 0.25 sec slow with 325 bonus range that does NOT stack with Flower power.
Daisy is in a relatively good spot imo. This boost gives her some kite of her own, without giving a free stack of flower power.
Triggerseed
ACTIVE: Ivern gifts a Triggerseed to the target allied champion, himself or DaisySquare Daisy, shielding them for 2 seconds. Ivern can store up to 1/1/2/2/3 Triggerseeds at a time.
SHIELD: At the end of its duration, or if reactivating after 0.5 seconds,, Triggerseed bursts, dealing magic damage to all nearby enemies and slowing them for up to 2 seconds, based on how long it was active. At max rank, Ivern can hold up to three triggerseeds at once, but cannot use it on a non daisy ally more than once every five seconds, and cannot use it twice on the same target. Being able to reactivate this ability is more skill expressive while allowing it to feel more like a kite tool while shielding an ally. It may not be wise to ship both changes, reactivation and storage. Perhaps a balance can be made, with the help of comments.
Daisy!
Daisy is the greatest cupcake rock to ever hit the rift. Nothing will ever come close to matching this ability, until
morde's rework comes out and you can ult an Ivern to let you have an Ivern with Daisy as the child of the grave.
