A New Take on Champ Diversity

Given recent season 6 meta shifts, champ reworks, and item modifications, many champs (aatrox, kalista, azir, ryze...etc), champion 'cheeze' builds (AP alistar, ADC ahri, AP trynd), or even simply alternate builds (AP kog, jungle shen) have been relegated to the periphery in light of largescale overhauls of the very things that made them fun to play, fun to play against, or flat out viable. Granted, many of these champs got nerfs and reworks due to power tuning and pro-play prevalence, however, to the champs that maybe once were relevant/viable and now are not, their effective removal from the game really is a result of what seems like riot having champs with cool, unique kits, that they simply don't know how to keep balanced given the current state of the game.

Given the above, this general season 6 trend has contributed to people having huge complaints about the game in general and that despite an ever-growing champion pool, league just feels like its getting smaller and smaller.

In looking through champions (I often look champs up on the league wiki in loading to check scalings and abilities), I noticed that a lot of champs, particularly those with secondary roles listed as 'marksman', often are never seen...as actual botlane marksmen. Perhaps this is Riot's attempt to make the class 'marksmen' not exclusive to botlane, but then again, botlane seems to be a pretty exclusive spot for them (RIP reworked Morde).

As a result of this, I have come to a simple solution. Why keep trying to fit squares in circular holes, and instead shrink the size of the pieces?

For example (an easy, less-of-a-jump one), take one of the most singular champs in league: Twisted fate. He plays like a marksman (which usually are pretty singular by the way), he fights like a marksman, his base stats are comparable to a marksman, but yet, never sees play in botlane. Why not? Despite ADCs being basically useless until 2items and/or lategame, they fill a crucial role of 'sieging turret destroyers'. Twisted fate, given the preference towards building him full AP, cannot fulfill this role until full build when his lichbane is doing real work. However, looking at his kit he has 100% AD scaling on his W. Maybe this is riot allowing room for a rageblade or gunblade build, but, as to building full ad, his e and q are pure ap abilities. Why not just pull an ezreal and give him some AD scaling? Doing so would immediately give the game a new ADC--one heavy with CC/Ability-based characteristics like the current popular adcs (ashe, jhin, sivir, lucian).

On the same vein as TF, Azir is actually listed as a marksman. At the moment, his powerspike is that of an adc (no damage until at least lvl 12, 2 items...etc) Given the constant state of ner%%%e to this already complicated champ this is another champ that if the attitude around him became less singular, he could be a good start to making botlane more diverse all while mostly preserving his kit. All he needs, is a little ad scaling , azir could become the new botlane sensation--a battle mage who, for example, auto attacks within 450range, and soldier attacks outside of that. (Could play with the auto attacks on the balancing, but nonetheless).

Idk, this is a long rant post, but basically my point is...playing with scalings on champs, and giving most of the champs in the game dual scalings could really revamp things and keep them fresh.
