I swear, riot has THE worst rankings off of placements. I won 4/10 games and got bronze 5. my friend wins 7/10, and gets bronze 5. Reply if this happened to you

it also depends what you were last season you know. there is even more than that involved also.

I know a diamond player went from diamond to silver and gold to bronze I was gold last season and ended up bronze 1 and even platiumn players went from platiumn to silver so now there 2 times more players in bronze which is unfair for us...

Yep, I had the same issue. They've clearly created a system where placement means nothing. And I thought last season was bad...

I had a friend who ended Season 4 as Gold 3. Went 8/2 in his placements and got Bronze 4.

I went from Silver 3 to Bronze 5.

i was silver last year and went 9-1 and got bronze 3......this year i was silver 5 after making it up to silver 1......went 5-5 and got b3 again.....they don't care how good i play, they are just going to stick me in bronze 3.......well, they are just making me go play another game

I went 6-4 and got bronze 1. Expected for me. (I was silver 4 last season and the season before but I hardly played ranked games)

Do you think your placement is indicating if you understand how to win games? Theoretically speaking, if you play more games, you earn elo. Something you all should think about...

I was able to go 9-1 and placed Plat II, I was only Plat V last season but my mmr was a little above average. I am very happy with the results, maybe you guys are not realizing what your actual elo is, first thing is to look at your win rate, and also realize that some games you lose are worth more elo then others depending on the team. Also you can have those gold V players who go there by the luck of teammate draw and lost a bunch but were not demoted. So your elo is silver 3 but your rank says gold 5. I think the placement matches work fine, if you can understand what is going on behind screen.

Though I do know some people who where Plat V and now Gold V or Silver, but I would bet they had really bad elo. (Good hint when you lose more LP then you gain or something close.) Last season I was gaining 21-25LP and losing 9-15.

i went 3-7, was silver 3 last year. I was on teams finishing with things like 11-2-15 while the rest of my team had double digit deaths. I was often the only person on the team finishing positive. The games i won i carried with scores like 15-2-11, 16-1-10. I got Bronze IV..... Season 3 I was silver IV and at the start of season 4 went 8/10 in placements and got Bronze III....This is the 2nd year in a row. It is a massive waste of my time to try to rank up in bronze. Every other game has leavers, feeders etc. It took me about 3 weeks of hardcore playing to get to silver V placements and 3 of my 5 matches had dc's. So i had to go at it again. Just wtf Riot.
