Your opinion on these toplaners

So I main top. I played Yorick for a while, loved him (got me to silver 2, I don't belong any higher for now ;) ). Wanted to pick up some new champions. I looove shen, he is totally my kind of champ. But as I want more than 2 champs that I like, I keep looking.

I tried lots of toplaners, but no one feels as fun to me as shen. I mostly play tanks, so I wanted a squishy for some diversity. I bought Fiora, but I really sck playing her. Lost a lot of BE again, so I try to make good picks for my next champ to buy. Who do you guys think is the most fun top to play and not that hard.

I post the champs I have in mind here, but feel free to propose other champs/

Urgot Urgot: I think he can do tons of damage and is pretty easy. He has an escape with the dash. Is he fun to play? And he's ok right now?

Gangplank Gangplank: I got this shard, so it's a bit cheaper. He looks fun to play, but squishy also. His barrels will be a bit of practice, but I think the parrrley can poke a lot too.

Kennen Kennen: I rarely see this one in lane. But his kit seems to be made to escape easily. Is he hard to learn? Does he have a tough time in toplane?

Galio Galio: they tell me he is the closest to shen. But I don't see what his strength is. He can poke with Q. But thats seems to be it? Fun to play?

Jayce Jayce: He seems so hard to play, but also so strong :s The switching between melee and range, I think it will freak me out in game. Thoughts on this one?

Gnar Gnar: the boomerang is a nice poke. But the ult looks meh to me. They play him in LCS, so I guess he's pretty good?

Singed Singed: Because he always seems to win?

Maokai Maokai: because he is mentioned a lot. But I think he suffers in lane?

Champs I allready tried; illaoi, pantheon, renekton (he is fun, but I mostly loose lol), jax, quinn, fiora, yorick, shen, nasus, darius, tryndamere

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

If you want something with good damage, that isn't overly mechanical, and is pretty durable (too much so in my opinion) so as not to be too drastically different from what you are used to, go Urgod

So, a lot of this isn't my opinion but I've been watching a lot of pros and high elo streamers in toplane and here's some things that I've picked up on champion viability:

Urgot, he is alright but not really anything to write home about compared to meta picks atm. He doesn't really have a keystone that he can truly abuse but on the flipside he doesn't have many hard counters.

Gangplank, absolutely broken. He synergises very well with kleptomancy and can easily solo carry games. But you have to be good at him. I would not suggest trying him out in ranked. If you're not absolutely comfortable with him you'll find yourself doing very little in games.

Kennen, again, she is alright but falls flat on the keystone department. She has the benefit of being ranged so her laning is not that difficult.

Galio, he's pretty bad. His current kit isn't really designed for toplane and riot is still trying to find a good place for him.

Jayce, he is absolutely hard to play. And you have to be a very strong laner to really bring the best out of him. If you're into carrying through winning lane, then he's your guy. Do not test in ranked.

Gnar, Gnar is used in pro play because his kit is extremely useful in so many situations. He can duel, he can poke, he can engage and he can disengage. He's pretty much the ideal toplaner. He's tanky, he's ranged, he deals plenty of damage, he has mobility, he has cc. Now I'm not saying he's overpowered but he is overpowered. At least in premade games. In solo queue he has a difficult time dealing with engage and damage heavy snowballing toplaners like Irelia that you don't see in pro play because they would be camped to hell and back. So Gnar is a good pick as long as it isn't into a ridiculous solo queue only picks or when you can rely on your jungler.

Singed, Singed is another one of these solo queue stompers. I don't really have that much info on him but if you get the basics of him down you should be expecting to win a lot of games easily because he's simply too hard to deal with for an unorganized team.

Maokai, he is pretty strong. That's all I can really say about him. You're very hard to kill and even in lane your cc is often way too much for your opponent to deal with. He doesn't really struggle in lane unless against very hard counters like Nasus, who I believe is ban worthy at the moment.
