New champs in ranked

So I want to ask Riot to take a vote from their player base and see what the actual thoughts are regarding new champs in ranked. It is extremely unlikely that you are a "main" or even that proficient at a champion that has just come out. Why not make people wait until a week after the champion is out to play them in competitive mode? I mean it honestly just ruins the game for others when someone "tries something" in ranked, and allowing new champs to be played in ranked creates a situation where you wwant to ban the champion so someone on your team doesn't play it who doesn't know it, and if someone had planned to play it they are likely to troll because they wanted it.

Please explain how it's logical to let people play new champs in ranked week 1.
