Tahm Kench Changes

Over the last few months Tahm Kench has received a number of changes to try and adjust the way he interacts in the game. Quite a few of the changes have been based around his Devour (I.e the move speed reduction, cooldown increase and making it so that he cannot flash), With all of these changes too his Devour it's starting to affect what makes his kit so fun and unique, because as of right now he is moving toward just being a quick silver sash that can rotate around the map well. I'm not the biggest fan of complaining about changes to champs or even the game in general because they obviously put a lot of time and thought into changes and trying to make the game more fun. So with that being said i was trying to think of ways to make tahm kench less overbearing but still keeping his unique play style.

After quite a bit of thinking and running scenarios through my head, i have come up with something that i think might work. Of course there might be problems with this idea that i might not have thought of but i figured this was a good enough idea to at least make a post about. Basically the idea is to make it easier to play around Tahm Kench's Devour while still making him fun and unique for the person playing him. I have two similar ways of doing this and each come with different disadvantages and advantages.

#1 If you made it so that hard crowd controlling Tahm Kench made him drop the person he was Devouring, it could add some counter play to him eating an ally to save them and people could save crowd control for when Tahm Kench goes in to save an ally. If you were is implement this i would suggest keeping the flash change to his devour so that hes not just giving an ally an extra flash but i would remove the movement speed slow while eating allies. This also Helps to stop Tahm Kench from running Cleanse.

#2 This runs along the same lines as the first one but instead of using hard crowd control you would just use damage Tahm Kench has taken while a champion is in his devour (i.e Tahm Kench eats ally/enemy, If Tahm Kench takes 500 damage he drops that person). Like in the first one i would keep the flash change and revert the movement speed slow.

For the second one i would have the health scale with Tahm Kenchs level not his points in Devour, because if it went off his ranks in Devour it would be overbearing at some point and too weak at others. You could have it scale by rank if you also had it scale off level (i.e Rank 1 could be 100Hp +(10Hp per level) then rank two could be 100Hp + (15 Hp per level) and so on and so forth) you could also choose to have it scale with Tahm's max health.

I Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope i have done a ok job explaining myself. If you have any question or ideas i urge you to contact me Via [email protected] or through the comments i would love to discuss this more and hear your insights.

Can we also say that riot`s way of compensating tahm kench for his nerfs were a complete failure, ive screamed on the boards that buffing the slow on his q would just make him oppressive against immobile champs without giving him anything that he actually needs...

Then everyone complains about not being able to do anything against tahm after they get slowed by him...…………

Then riot takes away his q stacking mechanic...which is what tahm players need to deal with MOBILE champs...

Then riot buffs his slows again.....because 9.14 nerfs were too hard on him......cause why the not -_-

So they just made him mr rock paper scissors...okay...

Tahm kench was originally a scaling champion when played as a solo laner, he didn't get his passive damage until he got points into his R....he still has the same kit but with the damage there for free early game....just put the damage back onto his R and have it ramp up for each point in it....
