Unbalancable Akali

Hey there. I am an akali main and I have been so sad over the last patches. I see riot trying to nerf her to the ground because experienced player can literally destroy everyone and inexperienced end up feeding the whole game. I come with a simple suggestion here. Nothing THAT special. I see that the assassin playstyle is a high risk high reward playstyle and I love it. Sometimes things get out of control though. Akali used to have so huge sustained damage that Riot hard to nerf her down. Well I am not saying that the nerf was un-needed, I just think riot balance team is aiming at the wrong direction. instead of nerfing her damage, Riot should focus on making her more decisive. instead of bringing her q into 4 seconds as you plan that will make her gameplay completely different you should aim on the problem. She can spam spells and spamming spells make her broken. Give her a blue buff and she will still destroy everything in her path. Ok I understand that this must stop. Instead of just giving her Q a 4 second cooldown you can make it an arming system like rumble's E or Vel'Koz's W. let her store up to TWO stacks of her Q and give it a higher second cooldown. It will help her keep being the super micro assassin but also keep her from becoming an enemy team annihilator (if she is ahead or with a blue etc. ) Nerfing her dmg will make her a not fun to play pick and she will not even fit the assassin role completely. PLEASE keep her dmg high and add more risk to it. Keep her from becoming a hypercarry but do not remove her ability to melt the adc in 1 second. Assassin's that cannot one-shot are just not worth playing.

Thanks in advance. Haters this is just a suggestion, I do not mean to offend anyone I am just expressing an opinion. Sorry for the long post.

The issue is her shroud. Always has been. It removes the "risk" part of "high risk, high reward." Since the vast majority of attacks can't target someone who's stealthed even with sweeper.

It could be made into just a ring of energy, maintaining the energy regen it gives but removing the cloak entirely.

Though a far less drastic change would be to reverse the AoE entirely, making the cloaked area as small as the inside of the current doughnut shape.

I get the feeling that riot wants to keep the shroud as a defense tool because it kind of defines akali. She presses W and gets a safe zone to work in.

I aggree with Linna here. Her shroud is a super strong tool but it can be abused in many ways. AoE spells sweeping lens are pretty good tools to work against it and the cooldown is also punishing in the early game placing a higher cooldown on late game might be a risky idea and I am not sure if it would work. A small nerf in its duration could also be helpful. I am not that confident about that though. From my personal experience abusing the q-passive is her problem. If she can do that she is op, if she can't she is useless. That is why I suggested the above.

Plus without it, dealing most of her damage in a fight outside of the 1v1 would be almost impossible. Her kit is all around delays and combos. if you get hard cc chained you are fucked before anything happens, which the shroud prevents a little bit (she can be cc'd if if she is hit by aoe stuns).

Her in-kit healing defined her. That was removed as well. And originally, it wasn't a safe zone since pink wards were an extremely easy counter. It wouldn't hurt her core to remove it.

Or, rather, it could become an energy field that gives her defensive bonuses and/or grants the healing that was removed from her Q.

I think revert is the best option

I feel like if gunblade was not in the game akali would be much more healthy.

I actually dig the Q idea. It's not bad at all.

That champion is a mess and was predicted to be a mess the moment her gameplay was revealed before hitting live servers. If WE predicted this and the design department and even the balance department did not and gave the thumbs up, then this shows how clueless they are.

And i thought certainlyt was clueless enough.

This company should be changed from Riot games to Clueless games.

Her kit has too much potential and is very overloaded. Dumpster the champ and rework it.
