Baron Buff

I was playing league today, (Imagine that). And we were a little bit behind. As my team and i were defending our base from super minions (24 minutes) When all of a sudden.... The enemy team comes out of baron pit ready for a push. As we were defending out two puny nexus towers from the super minions buffed by baron. Which got me thinking, "Why are super minions so largely buffed by baron.". At 25 minutes we lost to a minions. They are just too strong. ( Their defenses are insane is the probelm)

If you have any tips on how to beat the super-buffed minions please tell.
