Something you need to know about illaoi

I have played illaoi for about 20 matches now and want to share some thought about her (about how to tweak this champ). -This champ has a lore with 360 paragraphs, 500 pages which is insane. what's more insane is that some people actually read them

-First time playing her, you need to spend half of the game reading all texts describing her spells

-killing tentacles yield 5g (Susan love farming tentacles, Susan is the nightmare for illaoi)

-her Q hidden passive increases her tentacles damage (http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Illaoi)

-Maxing Q first makes her very mana hungry at laning phase but is a viable option

-W animation mechanically affects the gameplay against illaoi. The problem is the animation is too slow, the opponent can disrupt her mid-air and bring her w in cd, doing no dmg, especially tested with things like riven 3rd Q. And can be dodged by flash completely which is weird coz it is an AA. I would say pretty buggy atm and made her dmg unreliable against certain champion (Riven, Renekton and anyone with knock up).

-The hitbox of her E makes it more likely to land on minions

-if the spirit pulled into tentacles range, all tentacles in range will hit it.

-If E hit and pull the spirit out, the spirit counts as a champion for illaoi spells (i.e. it will heal u if tentacles hit and ult will spawn one more tentacle)

-E currently OP against Tahm Kench as the grey health area counts as current health. I.e. for a TK with 10% current health 90% grey health, you can pull a spirit with 100% health bar, so you can kill TK by killing the spirit.

-the dmg amplification on E is insanely high. Rank 5 provide extra 45% base dmg +8% per100AD when hitting both the host and the spirit.

-If get hitted by E when playing against illaoi, the best thing to do is run and become a vessel unless u r tanky enough to stay the full duration of it. And DO Not run toward illaoi as u give her the chance to hit both of u and ur spirit.

-becoming a vessel is actually not a problem for most champion as it is easy to dodge the tentacles. You just have to suffer the blurred vision for 3 tentacles spawn.

-ult makes this game a tentacles porn

-ulting a vessel or a spirit grant u a free tentacles hit on them

-All of her damage rely heavily on the number of tentacles surrounding the enemies

-illaoi offers no Teamfighting CC (Huge weakness in this meta)

Things that I want to change: faster w animation (dun jump too high), allow one tentacles always follow illaoi as she is useless without them. nerf the dmg ratio a bit.

Some random BS: illaoi nearly never lose to melee champion (expect the 1st 5 matches I played her which I lost to anyone terribly). she is very vulnerable to kiting as she can't live without tentacle. she has a win rate of 46% which imo is quite low. Her pick rate drops below 15% atm. This is just some random thought on her, I think she is really fun to play and anti-fun to play against.

I mean, I play almost exclusively ARAM, and with the snowball she (and all the other juggernauts) wreck face, and the vessel thing is really obnoxious when the tentacles reach halfway across the map and your whole team has to be clumped up. So she's super good there. But in general, no, she's not too OP. She's in the same boat as Galio, where they're unexceptional in most cases, but certain game-modes bring changes that make them fantastic.

well, in arams its multiple factors why illaoi is op.

snowballs exist, so juggs arent restricted by low mobility in that mode. at least not nearly as much as in regular gamemodes.

the howling abyss doesnt give much room to move. tentacles can be put closer together than on usual maps, and there is not much room to dodge them. you can only flee into 1 direction when she ults.

arams are a constant siege. and illaoi naturally excells in extended siege scenarios where she can set up a lot of tentacles and just keep swinging her e at people.

its a similar reason why heimerdinger is op in that mode.

All things considered about her E, I have found success in actually jumping on Illaoi when she lands it. It pushes her off your spirit and provided you have you spell rotation, you stand a good chance at making it too risky for Illaoi to finish it off.

Are you looking forward to this December for when Snow Day Guh-Nar comes back?

YES! When it first came out I was garbage on Gnar and I have sense gotten quite good with him but now I can't get Snow Day Gnar until it hopefully goes back on sale

Basically no on beats her 1v1 in her ult. She can't beat anyone without ult 1v1. She can't chase. Meaning that if you simply run away the moment she ults. She is powerless
