Champion Select Trolls

So i was in champion select (promos for silver 2) and I asked if I could be the adc. Then the second and third pick (they were picking at the same time) bout locked in jungle. They continued to flame each other and refused to go to another lane. I tried to convince one of them to go top but they bout refused. Our first pick (Lissandra) saw this and sayed she would "troll". She locked in clarity and clairvoyance as summoner spells and Warwick (one of the junglers) did the same. So I was faced with 2 troll and the possibility of a long game ending in defeat, or I could just leave and lose one of my promo games. So i did. So I'm asking did I do the right thing, and how can I stop this from happening again?
