I played my promos went 7/3 and got 17+ kills in every game, 180+ farm and 60%+ objective kills and I got place in bronze 4. This is so freakin dumb what is the point of trying to play good if this is what you get back.

You were B1 last year and placements ALWAYS start you lower than you ended last season. I don't see a problem here. I was Gold 4, was 6/4 and I started S5 - Im back in Gold now. What's your issue here?

He does bring up a point. Was there really a difference between you going 6/4, 10/0, or 0/10? You probably would have ended up Silver 5 regardless of the games, at which point why bother with the placement matches at all?

because pre season still affects your mmr, but not your ranking

Riot uses your MMR/Rank to calculate about where you should be when assigning you during and after placements. They run that calculation at end of the preseason.

The question is how much effect do the 10 games actually have.

If I went 0/10 I wouldn't be Silver, that's for sure.
