Why am I not getting better?

I am persistently trying to find ways to improve my gameplay so I can climb out of Silver. I watch countless videos on youtube and high elo streamers to try and find ways to help me improve my game knowledge. Most of the videos I watch basically say "It's easy to get out of silver, just farm and carry." I feel like my game sense is decent, but my mechanics are terrible. I have a few games where I pop off and get kills but most of them it feels like i'm inting. I used to main support but moved to jungle because it seems no matter how good of a support I am if no one else can do their part I can't effectively carry (not saying i'm good). Yet this is the issue because I don't feel like i'm doing my part as jungler, which means I can't get ahead and then have to rely on my team to win, which is why i'm silver because you can never rely on your team to win in low elo. They're trying to group up in mid lane against a fed enemy team then of course we end up losing. My last game I was doing poorly as Kayn but tried to split push top to pull the pressure away from mid, which worked because 4 people came for me, but then my team didn't follow up by pushing bot lane. I of course died because I was behind, then got flamed for it. Earlier when the enemy was pushing mid I told our carry to go top and split, we ended up getting both mid and top pushed in to the inhib towers. This is why I feel like my game sense is decent, but the reason we lose is because i'm making poor decisions when it comes to picking my fights. It's really discouraging when i'm losing games and getting flamed. Any tips?

There is something I tend to do.

When watching videos (not coaching or commentary), pause every few seconds and ask what is the player going to do next. If you are correct, cool, if you are wrong, rewind and try to see why he did what he did and not what you thought he'll do.

The 2nd advice, try to be your own commentator during games. Say out loud what you plan to do. "I will start my red with a leash and check where the enemy jungler starts, if he's at his red, I'll go straight to his blue, ward over the wall to see him coming, drag the blue down and steal it. If he doesn't come up while I'm doing the scuttler, he invaded me so I'll steal his gromp as well". If you see him gank, quickly move the camera there and check what buff he has. If it's a red, just take gromp and blue then leave, if it's blue, take those 2 and wolves, since he won't have time to clear both red and another camp as they usually do and get to you in time.

If you want to improve a lot faster, I suggest watching SkillCapped and Virkayu on youtube. SkillCapped don't have only jungle videos, but the way they break down everything and explain it will help you make game plans like similar to that, and in case your plan fails, you can ask yourself what went wrong, while Virkayu is a super good youtuber when it comes to coaching junglers due to how he makes his videos. Everything is explained as simple as possible to be understood and all. Give them a try.

Get your ass in that practice tool and practice combos, moving after attacking, CSing, clicking accurately (get 2.5 attack speed and set up a bunch of training dummies and shoot them 1 time each.). Practice that shit 'til it's second nature.

It's all about practice. Every professional in every game or sport practices in a controlled, no stress environment. Once it becomes second nature, you can do it even while stressed.

Practice while stressed is usually sloppy and not as effective as drills for what you're looking for.

You're missing fundamentals, practice fundamentals. It's boring as shit, but your game will improve.

You have a problem that i still struggle with. The reasion high elo players say tis ezy to climb out is bc there micro is amazing and punish small mistakes low elo players make and use that tiny lead to propel them to being fed. Bc you and I arent good enough to hard carry like that 90% of the time we cant use the same 1v9 strat high elo players use to smurf.

I easily passed Silver with Brand support, picking Alistar when Brand gets banned. It is honestly mostly about your skills, not some super knowledge. Just make sure you play your carry champion almost perferctly. Develop a strategy, mechanics and tricks for one carry champion and abuse it. As an example Silver adc players don't understand how to farm properly under your Brand W pressure. Once they are about to farm minion make them choose between minion and taking damage from you. Learn to land stuns. I would say you can apply this logic to any champion. Just master him and find some good soloQ abuses.

What makes you think your not getting better?

your not going to climb out of silver by playing at a gold or even a lot plat level, unless you spam 1000 games a season and priase the RNG gods to get your teammates that are carriable.

matchmaking ins silver is inherently broken because riots keep shoving an influx of new players into silver who play at a bronze 4 level

and w/e team gets.. just flat out loses 90% of the time

i mean the last 2 ranked games i play this is what i had to do to carry ( i don't play ranked games outside of of when my friends want to duo with me)

https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2878404118/207008136?tab=stats

i was 15/5/9

i had more damage to objectives than the other 9 players in the game combined

i got rift, baron and 4 dragons

i got a triple kill at 4 min in

and i made sure to use that to snowball every single lane out of control

i literally didnt give them an once of breathing room

i completly made Evelynn a non-factor the entire game

that is what it takes to carry a game

anothe rgame was dead even.. and it was getting toward late game

i knew as nid early on after olaf got pretty fed i really had no chance of carrying... so what me and my freind ( the support) did was make sure our adc (was in a postion to do so

and i played the maps to make sure she was in a postion to carry.. me and nami keeping her topped of for ever fight.. giving her heals ( my heals giving attack speed

nd i also made sure to try be a constant threat to thier squishies while xayah did the work to win us the game.. but had we gotten an adc that couldnt play.. we would have lost.

other games are just uncarryable

my team has an 8k gold lead at 40 min but made a really stupid decision that got us aced when we could have ended the game

just becuase you dont SEE any improvement donest mean your "not getting any better"

thats just becuase your in silver... and the range of players skill in silver range from bronze 4 to diamond

its MOSTLY very low silver or high bronze,,, but there is still enough randomness to get a low bronze or a higher elo player in every other game.

Personally I dont think its good to watch too many videos, just watch one or two and try to implement what they teach.

It's genetic

Hence why all the pro and challenger players place silver then randomly end up challenger the next season

Huni was placed bronze

"Hard work" won't get you shit. If you've been playing ranked for more than 2 seasons and you still haven't moved up, you never will

In silver, relying on your team to win is a great strategy. It is only bad if your skill level is a lot higher than silver (meaning you are a player that shouldn't stay in silver) because you will have to be the carrier in your team.

If you feel like you are stuck in your rank, check your stats and ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What is my win rate? How many games have I played in this rank?
  2. What champions do I play? What are my KDAs of the champions I play frequently?

If your win rate is lower than 50% in 200+ games and the kdas of your champions is not "considerably higher" than the server average, I am afraid you are really stuck. I will use a 20% markup to define "considerably higher". For example, Shen has a server average KDA of 2.8, if you are better than silver then you should have a KDA higher than 3.4 while playing him in silver matches (in other words, matches that are below your skill level).

From your stats I can not tell a lot because there aren't sufficient number of games being played. However, I think you are not one of the players that possess gold+ skill level.

What happens if you are really stuck? You should not be that person to play the carry champion because your skill level is roughly the same as any other teammates you will be matched with. This is why and relying on your team is working.

In silver, most players do not have the self-awareness. They feel they are better than their teammates. They refuse to play support and they feel they need a champion with damage and they will be able to carry the team. When all 5 members on your team are playing carries, 3 out 5 will be useless no matter what because they don't have the resource to build the items they need to carry unless the enemies feed in which case it is a certain win. You have to realize that when you play a carry champion you are doing no better than an average teammate.

I am not asking you to play support only. Playing support is almost pure "relying on your adc to win" in silver. You want to play top. These champions only: Chogath Garen Malphite Maokai Shen Sion Swain Urgot DrMundo. While playing Swain, use this build instead of the standard AP build: item 3020 item 3110 item 3165 item 3065 item 3001. If you feel like you still cant stop dying try these 3 safest champions during laning phase: DrMundo Yorick Sion. (Build item 3025 and full tank on Yorick)

These champions (including Swain with the tank build) are all extremely economically efficient. You can be behind in gold and you will still be useful in teamfights. Just play safe during the laning phase you will be useful no matter what.

You want to not only give your resources to your teammates so they can carry but also denying the chance that a resource consuming top appear on your team. If it is a Fiora or Jax top and they feed to their laner, they will be split pushing all game and make it a 4v5 before they can actually help which is usually 30 mins or later. You may want to ask why not a tank jungler, or a tank mid. Mid requires roaming which may be a liitle complicated. The only viable tank jungle right now is Rammus. Top is the easiest lane in my opinion. You can also try tank Swain bot. Most silver teams end up better replacing their adc with a juggernaut in my opinion.
