Riot is trying to make league more of a team game.. As a result of changes specifically for this reason such as the minion wave changes the one solo player doing well doesn't make as much of a impact. This feels horrible as the player doing well because it feels like you're losing for reasons outside of your control.

Actually alot of times losing is outside of your control. You can roam. You can ping towers and try to guide them strategically. You can get uber fed (6 - 10 kda with 7 - 8 cs /m ).However, that does not mean your teammates will follow the calls and will actively do things to win the game. Actually a larger portion of the time they will actively do the opposite and openly start arguing / flaming rather than work together (Especially bronze -> Gold players.).

The only impact you can have is spreading your lead to the other lanes in the hopes that they're not incompetent enough to instantly throw whatever lead you give them. If you're a jungler your only hope is that 1 of 3 positions is playing a carry champion and not totally incompetent. When 3 lanes are behind before you've finished the first or second full clear the game is generally lost or going to be a 40 minute to hour long grind because the enemy isn't smart enough to close out the game.

The only way to make ranked a non frustrating experience in the current state of the game is setup a actual team. Have one or two shot callers (That get along -_-). Coordinate your picks to be a solid team comp that is a counter or a even match up to the opponent's comp. Vent / Team speak up and communicate summoners, movement, etc. Treat it like ranked 5v5s instead of solo queue.

Solo queue is literally being killed. Unless there is a vast skill difference (Diamond/plat in bronze/silver kind of difference) it's just too hard to carry for solo play to be viable. If you're placed relatively close to your actual ability carrying hard enough to win just isn't going to happen as consistently as it did in the past (Let's say a Gold V in Bronze II or a Plat IV in Gold III).
