is 70ms too much for competitive play?

I have been learning the game and watching videos. Some players I watched have under 30MS, while mine is randomly going between 70-90ms. (DSL is my only option where I live). It also appears their champion reacts much quicker to clicks, but I want to get some opinions to see if this is true? Is there a big difference between 30ms vs 70ms? WIll it be worth doing ranked on my internet? Thanks for your time.

Ping and bandwidth are two completely different things. Your ping is affected by the distance between you and the server, not the bandwidth of your connection. You can get like 10 ping on Dial up if the server if right around the corner from you.

Its mostly if the ping is stable for you.

You can get used to the little delay at your ping its you will have a slight disadvantage to players with less ping but that is only really impactful at high levels of play.

I'm going to say no. If you have 70 ping you can probably get low plat AT BEST, but to go beyond that without playing support would be extremely hard, doable; but hard.

But if you plan to play normals and below plat then 70 ping is good enough!

Here's an example of someone playing in Diamond with ~120 ping:
