Another case of matchmaking

So me and a friend played a game in normals and this is what we got:

The Tahm Kench was DIAMOND last season and we are just silver 5. I understand this is normals but we can never try out a new champion because we are never facing equal skill level. Note how the Plat fiddlesticks destroyed the poor silver lux :(

Nothing to see here, only a normal game

It doesn't matter if it's normals I'm not a competitive player when it comes to league I just like to have fun. But when you get facerolled by someone clearly a higher skill level than you when you're trying to try out new shit, it's really frustrating.

Now that's not the right response even if hes game is not the perfect example even in normal games you want to have a fair chance of winning if the match making is making unfair games in norms its providing an unfair unfun experience period!

Ehhh that's not that bad to be honest you guys had a decent chance of winning for the most part you should have seen one of my games I had a lvl 29 on my team fighting against two gold players feelsbadman!

Clearly riot is saying level 29 = Gold level players

Their team got some shit plats, I rarely do that bad even when i'm half trolling with my buddies.

Incoming super racist statement!

Silver and Platinums in the same game is ridiculous. The only place that such a big difference should be acceptable is ARAM.

Tahm was also diamond last season item 3070

Normal and ranked matchmaking are completely separate.

normal mmr =/= ranked mmr

when are people going to understand this?[zombie-brand-facepalm]

Nami Want Salami1 votes

I don't even know what mmr is

I don't even know what mmr is

then learn what MMR is before complaining about matchmaking

MMR is a system that puts me with people 2-3 tiers above what I am? I don't play ranked so I don't really know what all this is.

to boil it down... MMR stands for Match Making Rating, you get paired with others who have similar MMR. It increases and decreases depending on whether you win or lose. Every mode in the game has a different MMR which means you can have a stupidly high MMR in one mode (let's say ranked) but also incredibly low MMR in others (let's say normals). So when you go and play in a mode you rarely play you are going to have this huge gap in skills since you are now using the MMR of a mode you barely play which is going to pair you up with others that have similar MMR in that mode.

It's something i wish they would fix but then not all modes are similar so having a high MMR in the environment of SR might not translate well to ARAM or TT (which yes they do have their own MMR) so that makes it a bit more tricky to do.

So it's supposed to help those that have a losing streak I'm guessing
