PC Shutting down during LoL and what fixed this

I remember this being an issue a few weeks /months ago, Riot recognized it and disabled ranked queues until it was fixed. Basically my PC that has otherwise no issues running league or games that are more demanding was just randomly shutting down while playing league (and only league) as if someone pulled the plug on it. No error message or anything. I wrote to support where I got the typical "it's your PC" treatment, even though I sent my DxDiag file and made it very clear that no part of my PC is overheating and that this isnt an issue in any other game, despite them being more demanding. Later it occured to me that I haven't tried reinstalling the game. I did so and guess what? The issue is gone. I did reinstall it to my C: drive whereas before it was installed on my D: drive. I'm not sure what part of this fixed it, could've been either reinstalling or just that the game is now on my main drive. For reference, here's my PC build: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0 GHz 4GB RAM Nvidia Geforce GTX 550Ti

UPDATE: 3 days after the game running flawlessly, the issue is back. Riot for the love of god fix this

Well thank you for solving your computer issues instead of going "OMFG it's not my fault sorry guys my laptop overheated" in ranked every so often.

I haven't had this issue on a duo, although I have more RAM (had to throw out 1 GB due to it being busted and shutting down everything -might want to check your older ram sticks that game with it out if it breaks from being just old).

Hey guys, I am also experiencing the same problem while playing league, I am on Asus x75vc with nvidia GT 720m, I am able to play all the other games on my pc (gta5,pes 2017) but it shuts down a couple of minute after I open league. PS: i just cleaned the fan and replaced the thermal paste. Can anyone please help me.

I am curious, has anyone ever gotten a reply from riot with the context of "Yeah we fucked up, sorry, we are trying to fix this" Obviously before they put up the (!) and already acknowledge it.

Are you getting a little beeping noise before the screen goes black? And does it shutdown completely or just restart?

You might want to reseat your graphics card and see if that helps. Also, try playing in windowed mode and see if it still happens.

I'd also see if you could get/borrow another graphics card (not anything fancy just a super cheap one) and see if the problem persists after replacing your current one with the new one.

I had a problem like this once and it turned out my graphics card was just a little loose so I had to reseat it.
