Current State of the Jungle

So I just had a game where I accidentally didn't take smite, and have found that with the jungle exp changes, it is now impossible to gain experience in the jungle without a jungle item. This is particularly frustrating to me that in a situation where something is forgotten in champion selection, a game what was already a serious disadvantage becomes a hurdle impossible to overcome.

Think how bad it is when you fall behind WITH smite. Recovery is nigh impossible anywhere in this meta...unless your opponents start going cheese mode and feed.

Jungle XP is actually about the same as before. The primary difference is the ORDER. Krugs were buffed while Wraiths were kept the same, and Wolves/Gromp and secondary buffs were diminished.

Try Clearing Red > Wraiths > Krugs or Red > Krugs > Wraiths and you'll find you have about a level 5 first clear if you manage to also get one of the scuttles.

The main problem is most players find Krugs too tedious so they've been ignoring them, which makes the XP/Scuttle changes much harsher for them.

I'm getting 6 shortly after mid does when playing a jungler with clear.... (like Sion, Ornn, etc).

Tbh it's really annoying me.... not because the XP has changed, but because:

-Junglers with Clear are not early strong gankers nor do teammates present good gank opportunities.

-When I don't get Jungle, I get some nubs who don't know anything about this and haven't changed their farm pattern..... which means by the time laners are 6, they are still level 4.... not doing drakes.... not ganking properly, and generally get baited into perma farming the entire game, forcing a 4v5.

(But when I do get jungle I have a hyper feeding support that always makes bot lane impossible, or a hyper feeding top).

Incorrect. If you don't have a jungle item, the xp you get is about half. I did red buff and a scuttle and still had to kill 3 small birds before I got level 2...

You. Should. Never. Jungle. Without. A Trinket.

Stop arguing a stupid point. You're a liability to your team if you don't get one.

Personally, I hate the changes because they essentially muzzle most junglers into doing a relatively fixed pattern of behaviors early on, much like a laner...or at least extended the pattern for junglers. It feels as though jungle becomes just another lane rather a wild card variable that could equalize bad games.
