No More Ryze Reworks
Up until his most recent rework I could understand a lot of issues people had with the champion, hell before his latest one I despised Ryze as he seemed near impossible to kill. And even though it was only recently that they made it so you can't zhonya's in his ult anymore, (Disappointing but completely understood), I've heard they plan to rework him again which just seems completely stupid to me and the reason for this is that there's nothing really wrong with him. Yes he has magic crits and with a team that is communicating together he's strong, but the same could be said for a number of champions where if the team has strong coordination then they seem to be OP. But the fact is I find a lot of champions strengths to come from the faults of the players, in Ryze's case it's the fact no one builds MR so while yes he does do a lot of damage so do other mages like Cass, Brand, Malz, and etc.
The reason people struggle against AD heavy characters like Darius or AP heavy characters such as Ryze is simply because they do nothing but go full on aggression, something as simple and not too heavy in resistance such as scimitar for the marksman can go a long way in making one's survivability become incredibly better to the point they aren't one shot. And I find this to be the case for a multitude of champions who receive updates or reworks that weren't really needed to begin with, such as the upcoming Aatrox fixes which I find to be completely pointless seeing as if people just built any kind of armor they'd do fine against him. But in regards to Ryze as this is what this discussion is about, I don't want to see another rework from him because there are so many mages that function exactly like him yet no one pays them any heed or attention, such as Anivia who also has magic crits and Karthus too. Overall I love the current Ryze and I think this is the definitive version and no matter how many times riot reworks him beyond this point they're never going to satisfy the community, there will always be groups of people complaining he's OP because they just build damage and no MR meaning they have no resistance to his damage.
Whether or not you agree with this that's of course up to you as it is your opinion and you are entitled to it, but I just don't want to see Ryze have any major changes or kit overhauls done to him because he's fine the way he is, he's a mage that while capable of dealing great damage he's very combo reliant and can easily be dealt with if people just thought more about their items and play styles.
