Autofill is the most toxic shit ever.

Please remove it... I'd rather have 10+ minute queues then someone auto fill rage quit or them going to a role they weren't assigned. And I honestly don't blame them for it, I do not want to be forced a role I know I cannot play.

Your wait time wouldn't be 10 minutes. It would start that low and grow over time to be the 30+ we see in WoW dungeon finder.

This would render the game unplayable to casuals, further reducing game pop and accelerating the decline of the game queue health.

Riot needs to figure out a better system autofill is horrible and making people quit.

A Basic Island10 votes

then let them quit. Those are the exact people that are the problem

A Yasuo God4 votes

No the problem is autofill. People being forced a role they didn't want or they know they cannot play is making people toxic and quitting.

I don't understand where you got the idea these people are the problem.

It's really not that difficult to play all the roles adequately. I've been playing every role since season 3, when pick order determined where you were going to play. I don't remember many people crying over the roles they were forced to play, you just picked up two or three champs in each role and told your team which position you preferred.

Zialeska3 votes

I agree completely! people need to learn to play more then one role, especially in playing ranked games.

NineTailedMystic2 votes

Sure, I can play every role, if people let me do it with my champ.

I have no issues with people supporting with really out of place champions, as long as they are truly supporting, Like building a site stone and not purposely taking cs (except for the tanky support item of course).

It's not so much autofill as the players who just play one role the entire game. Can you people please learn how to support so I don't have to be in a game with a Yasuo or Teemo or Veigar support because mid lane is the only role they know, forcing either me or someone else to dodge to not lose? It's not that hard to play a few games in normal draft as a support like Thresh Sona Braum so that when you do get autofilled, you don't cost you and your entire team to lose. It's better than the good old days where you were guaranteed to get support or at least a role you don't want if you were 4th or last pick in S4

I have never personally played Veigar support but I have never seen it be horrible. The other 2 though, oh ya XD feeding central!

If you can' support, learn Braum. Since you know how to use Yasuo wall, Braum wouldn't be hard to play.

I recognize it isn't perfect, but the current queue system is a huge step forward compared to the old wild west system. I view it as a compromise between the ideal and reality, and accept it as such. Rather than complain, you should spend your effort putting thought into how to make it better while avoiding queue health problems. I'm sure Riot would be more than open to hearing ideas that would help. I mean, their team constantly works to improve the game as best they can, but the more minds working on a problem the faster it can be solved.

except time is a factor for people who work 40+ hours a week, i dont want to spend what little free time learning the 2 roles i dont know at all verse the 3 I do know. i like the fact that i get to pick 2 of the 3 roles that i do know but when i get autofilled into a role i dont know aka jungle or top. I have not won a single game as those and i get flamed all game for being terrible, which i know i am. Telling people in champ select doesnt help either since they say too bad deal with it then dont trade roles

DrCyanide1 votes

If you're in that situation you pick up champions that are flexible. You pick a single champion that can play 2 or 3 roles, (say Shyvanna for Top/Jungle or Nautilus for Top/Jungle/Support) and you learn that champion. Your experience on that champion will carry over role to role, so you won't struggle as bad as if you've got a separate champion pool for Top and a separate champion pool for Jungle.

And maybe that would lead to Riot doing what they said they'd do- removing Flex if que times are too long. Then we wouldn't have two different ques splitting the playerbase and we wouldn't need autofill.

Maximum Morde1 votes

Position ratio is the major influencer, not so much number of people in queue. Could be that flex drags away a disproportionate amount of supports though, only Rito has that data.

Why he admots he cannot support. And that he doesn't want other people miserable. That seems like positive things.

The hate the community has for Yasuo mains, amirite? They see a Yasuo main, instant down vote even if what I say isn't about Yasuo's balance.

Yasuo isn't even that strong... He's so easy to cc lock. Bronzies just argue in chat 24/7 and don't notice. Why do you think his winrate goes down the higher the rank? He's honestly a trash champ, and he truly takes skill to play gold+. He's like a Katarina.

Autofill isn't the issue, its the community. To many people forget that its a tram game, where you need to adapt and strategize and not go "Oh i only play X champion, but i didn't get to, time to int feed support!!!"

Giga Kahuna5 votes

well looks like it's time to learn how to play all of the roles like you used to do

autofill isn't nearly as toxic as "you're on the bottom of the pick order? welcome to support or jungle"

Zialeska1 votes

well looks like it's time to learn how to play all of the roles like you used to do exactly! people need to stop acting privileged and "I can only play mid, its the only champions I own" I am a support/mid main but I often play adc and jungle for those who cant! no one tries to learn a variety of roles and it really needs to happen.

Papa Andrei2 votes

I am a support main, but I have mastery 6 and over 100 hours on Yorick and urgot, I can easily carry games with Zac or Sej, Absolutely roflstomp mid lane with Brand or Zyra, And play a mean Jhin if need to.

And im fucking Silver 4.

All i gotta say, STEP UP YO GAME

Que times at low elo were 2m before autofil. I don't give a damn about above gold.

I'm not worried about myself. I am worried about that autofill jungle who can barely play 1 champ in his main role.

I'm tired of the Yolo Chogath support who's just raging cause he got autofill.

I'm tired of 10-15 minute ques thx to dodging. Guess what? Your auto protection didn't last even one real game.

It's a broken system tjey forced on low elo because of the pro scene.

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

You know Autofill is bad when a Yasou main is calling it toxic kappa

(Seriously, just learn all the roles)
