I'm happy about Runic Echoes, but...

I feel like having both would be better.

Don't get me wrong, Runic Echoes is great. It'll bring back into viability all the AP junglers who suffered when Magus was removed (Karthus and Fiddlesticks, anyone?), but removing Runeglaive brings its own problems. It'll be a big nerf to the junglers who DID benefit from Runeglaive (Evelynn and Diana are the first who come to mind).

IMO the best choice would be to have both so that both types of AP jungler have a good option, and champions who could utilize both can have the option to choose which one is best for the situation. Strategic diversity, right?

Apparently AP junglers are only allowed to chose from 1 jungle item at a time.

Diana actually deals more damage for lower cost with Echoes + Lich Bane than with Runeglaive + Ludens.

i really don't see why they can't keep both. i main Evelynn and this just pisses me off. i used to buy luden's on eve is i was snowballing super hard, but in the current meta you have to build tanky or you just get out tanked and die too quickly. forcing me to spend money on a mini jungle ludens AND having to buy lich bane just takes up more slots. yes, i'll do more damage, but i can't build as tanky as i would like to because of the extra item slot lich bane will now take up. people say "just play AD eve". .... i hate ad eve with a passion. ap eve is just way more fun to me.

i just feel like junglers like diana, elise, eve, and ekko shouldn't be denied their jungle build.

I never post but removing rune glaive deleted my main i'm a bit irritated. I can't imagine Any mage jungler wanting Runic Echoes over Runeglaive. The time you'd have to be fighting creeps to get two procs off in one fight is wayyy longer than you want to spend on a camp, where with RG you can proc it 2-3 times and move on. I mained jg naut and trying runic echoes was horrid, in every aspect, damage vs camps and damage vs champions. Building cinderhulk and then a sheen item was still terrible by comparison. No AP jungler I play benefited from runic echoes, not even close. Naut, amumu, elise, fiddles.

Karthus is MAYBE the only champ I can imagine who this would be okay for, but karthus has never been one of the main junglers, if he was ever intended to jungle at all. I'm not saying RG Naut is common by ANY means, but AP junglers aren't even viable anymore, the jg clear is just so so slow.

Just please bring it back, AD get two options!

I think AP Eve will be fine as Luden's Echo is also a very viable option on Eve. Sheen is still mandatory tho so I guess Lichbane will be bought pretty often now. Still, kind of weird how Runeglaive didn't last for more than 6 months or so.

But guess who's gonna abuse that item with Ap ezreal mid lane? ;)
