Yorick?
Thinking of picking up Yorick soon, I've never played him before but the idea of raising a small army of undead goons sounds very appealing and fun to me. How well does he fit into the current meta and do you have any tips for playing him?

There will be people who pigeon-hole Yorick. These will be the same people who will tell you the only masteries to run on Yorick are 12-0-18. Do not trust these people. Yorick may not be meta, but what he has is versatility. This is the best Yorick guide, in my humble opinion. As for tips and tricks, here are a few:
The best combo is E - W - Q, not Q - W - E. What I mean by this, is that it is far better to wait until after you land an E to summon your ghouls. It can often take your opponent by surprise, when your minions jump on them. Also, the slow from your E makes it easier to land your W.
3 minions isn't as good as 4, but its better in some ways. If your being aggressive in lane, it is much better to summon your minions in groups of three. While they will be dealt with easier, it allows you to summon them faster, giving your more overall DPS.
Summon Maiden in the enemy's path. If your running away from an enemy, summon Maiden in front of you. It takes her a second to get used to Summoner's Rift, so placing her in front of you, gives you the opportunity to essentially skip that waiting period and have her ready to go.
Maiden's not sneaky. When you summon her, she enter's with a bit of noise, so avoid bush strats with her.
Onhit doesn't work with your minions, but lifesteal does. Its often worth picking a little bit of lifesteal, as you can just sit under turret and let your minions heal you up. Also, a bit of a strange interaction. Your minions don't apply the Rage passive of BC, but they do apply the armor shred.
