Blind Pick idea
The point behind blind pick is literally that you are going into the game blind. You don't know who you are facing or what role that you are going to get. Majority of people do two things with blind pick: play-for-fun and play-to-know. When a person plays-for-fun, anything can happen and the whole purpose is to do something they find fun. Now this could be doing off-meta picks, trolling, using overpowered champs that are normally banned in draft/ranked, etc. There are almost no restrictions to these fun driven players, except for the usual reporting, which could be due to a lot of factors that I will not go into detail. The other person, play-to-know, could be people still learning the game who feel that they are not ready for draft or ranked because they don't know counter picks, bans, or champs. Play-to-know players are the new players, the fillings of bronze/low "elo", and people who just want to learn the game or new champs.
Quick note: I do not believe all these play-to-know players are bad, I like to think that they just haven't reached a general standard that league of legends players attain; now this standard can change from person to person, so everyone expects at least their standard or higher.
Now their are other people who play blind pick who do not fall into these categories. For example, someone who just wants a normal game, but do not prefer bans and counter picks that come with draft and ranked. Now talking about the general demographic of blind pick, everyone (maybe not brand new players) know that people call their lanes in blind. There's at least one person who will call their lane, again the whole "blind" idea Riot is going for. This is another flaw with blind pick and the community of league. This will probably never go away unless Riot implements a sort of predestination aspect to blind pick, but this will create backlash of things like "why did you turn blind into draft wtf" or "leaving league, moving to [insert MOBA]".
One thing I will point out that could change is the idea of this separated experience between draft/ranked and blind and other game modes. Blind is normal games, it is the stable basic mode of all MOBAs, pick and play. To be honest the idea I was going to propose has lost its value. If you really want to know what it was, it was instituting six random bans into blind pick (at least one being a free champ). This was to create a more similar experience between blind and ranked/draft, a sort of bridge, if you will, for people moving toward draft/ranked. Other than the basic idea of separated roles and teamwork strategies at different points in the game, draft/ranked and blind are completely separate notions of League with very little connected aspects for people to learn bans and counter picks for draft and ranked.
I hope this helps people or Riot to develop a community and game that is open to all, and tolerant of others. I know I didn't really prove anything or suggest anything, but perhaps this helps bring insight into the community
A little bit about me: Playing for about 5 years now, only started to get into ranked in season 5, actually committed to plying some ranked in season 6. Don't know why ranked proves someones worth in this game, but here's mine: Season 5: I think I got some sort of bronze Season 6: Silver 4 Preseason 7: Bronze 3 (right now)
