The Grading System Concerning Non-Relic Shield Supports
The grading system, as you all know, gives from D- up to S+ by comparing your performance to the performance of others on the same champ in the same role. The variety of grading standards include k/d/a and cs, and game-length is also used in judging whether you performed well in those areas.
However, I'd like to point to what I believe is a flaw in the grading system: Judgement of cs for supports that don't buy relic shield. Up until now, as one who has mained support for probably over a year now (sad goldy ;-;), I never really noticed it playing a major role in a support's grade. Although I noticed how important it was at other positions (especially assassins and champs that tended to get high kdas), I assumed support was exempt from that grading criteria. I never really looked into grading that far, and so never noticed any contradictions with that theory.
But just recently, while looking through my match history for the day, I saw something strange: a 26 minute nami game where I got 4/2/20 and an A-, and a 33 minute game where I got 5/3/22 and an S-. Another game from the same day, I got 2/2/18 in a 32 minute game, and got an A. The latter two games were longer, and therefore, it would only make sense that I would need better k/d/a to get a better grade. However, although in the S- game i got more kills and assists, the extra death completely brought it down, and the A game I had less kills and assists, but the same number of deaths. I also looked at kill participation, but the A- game did better in k. participation than the A game, and the S- game was only 2% better.

Then, I realized, maybe the cs factors into the grade. And as if to back that, my cs in the S- game was significantly higher than my A- game, 17 in comparison to the 4 of my A- game. My A game also had better cs. According to champion.gg, the average cs of nami as a support is, as of now, 12.96.
I thought it extremely strange that cs would affect the grade of a non-relic shield support so much, that it could boost the grade a full letter from an A to an S. The only reason I had more cs on my S- game was because my adc went 4/8, and was frequently dead. When I had no need to back, I stayed in lane and last-hitted a few minions. In the A- game, my adc was good, so I had no need to do that.
It's inappropriate for cs to effect the grade you get so much for a support without targons, who in most circumstances, shouldn't cs in order to let the adc farm, or at least I think so.
What do you guys think? I'm only gold, so maybe somebody could explain to me why it is that it would be important for all supports to cs to a certain extent.
