Can we mute pings?

I just got a toxic player that coudln't flame because of chat restriction (he said so at champ selection) so he spammed during the game several hundreds of pings to fall back all over the map in order to annoy.

Is there any way to remove pings for my end of the screen, not just muting them?

Unfortunately no. Riot doesn't want us to cut off communication 100%, so they leave pings there.

IIRC, you can /ignore someone (rather than /mute) to kill their pings as well.
