A Serious, Non-Rant, about 2018 Meta.
Alrighty. So as we near the end of spring split I would like to just say that it has been an eventful pre-/regular season so far. We have had new runes, runes replaced with other viable runes, new champs, soon to be a couple of reworks, nerfs and buffs across the Rift, and more notably, a new Keystone. So to get at the meat of the discussion and also the title of the post. At this point in the season the meta is barely taking shape, but something I have noticed with consistency is the number of changes to the Precision Tree. Granted I do play ADC primarily, so you guys can go off in the comments, but I have noticed with some... chagrin that the meta has shifted more towards duelists and front-line fighter/tank hybrids that can both deal damage and take it. Now I don't know if this is merely me, but I think that this could possibly be pointing towards a more duelist stance in the meta. Champions like Yasuo, Darius, Draven, Kled, Olaf, Riven, Tryndamere, etc. I would like to note that even in the Resolve Tree they have introduced a tanky/dualist rune in the second row, that rune being Chrysalis. It states that at the beginning of the game the champion starts with an extra 60 health and at 4 take downs, the health is consumed and the champion gains, respectively, 9 bonus AD or 15 bonus AP which is adaptive. Of course this has AP added in for champs in the mid-lane who may take it but the part to note is the the bonus AD. Again, it caters to dualist. To conclude, I am not trying to stir-up controversy, I do not want any sort of difficulty, I just wanted to discuss what was happening in League so that, as a community, have a better grasp of what is going on in the game we play semi-frequently.
