Why not two servers?

It makes 0 sense why you would change servers. I understand most of the player base is in eastern NA but my ping has almost tippled since the change. I've played over 1000 games on 36 ping so going to a ping that literally makes anything I do take 3 times as long is a big change, compared to east coasters who have grown used to high ping.

Was there any logic as to why there couldn't be two separate servers? Considering Dota 2 does this and is less popular. They even have servers in Africa.

Yes two servers would increase que times but at the same time, it would make it fair for everyone. I live in southern BC in Canada so even better internet would show little improvement, based on others i've talked to in BC.

Please, to any east coasters refrain from calling me a whiny baby.

And you weren't complaining when the east coast had the same lag as you?

I didn't realize it was that big of a problem for them. I never go on these forums and never even knew where the servers were until they said they were moving them.

all those excuses are bad.

lol claims to have 70million monthly players to dota's 12, queue times aren't bad there (2-5min). Unless they released numbers like there are only a few thousand NA players...

lol makes way more money that dota2/valve does, so server cost isn't a huge deal (other than they dont wanna spend money to make u happy).

2 servers would split NA up so much, cost money, 2x queue times, and just be bad

I would be perfectly fine with longer queue times if it meant my ping would be better. Excluding maintenance and basic expenses of running a game, would it really cost that much money? as I said earlier if other games can have servers all over the world, including obscure places, why can't LoL?

When I say all over the world, i specifically mean NA being split into two separate areas, east and west.

As I said it would split NA up

I'm not mad about the server change just means I can't play a couple champions at a high level anymore cough riven cough. But the thing I'm mad about is the packet losses I'm fine if my ping went up 30 extra if it means I have a consistent ping throughout the game.

There isn't two servers because of two things. First of all, the player base spread across the land isn't big enough to warrant two servers. It'd be a monetary liability to have two servers for what one could provide.
