Improved New Player Experience
Prepare to have your mind blown. So I've been thinking about the 3 refunds available to new players so they can return a champion/skin they don't like. However sadly this isn't really advertised and most new players probably aren't even aware of it, though I believe the refunds should stay and perhaps be advertised more I have an even BETTER idea! So let's say a player joins League of Legends, they play a few games with a couple different champions and feel like they're most comfortable with Teemo. Well the weekly champion cycle sweeps Teemo away and the player is forced to try something new. Nothing wrong with that, however players can start to feel pressured and stressed if they don't have something they can turn to, so here's the idea:
Bookmarking. All new players can select up to Three champions total from weekly champions(spread over as many champion rotations until their three selections are used up.) Bookmarking these champions will allow the player access to those champions for free. It will essentially be a starter kit for new players when they sometimes just want to return to a champion they're familiar and comfortable with after trying a bunch of other new champions. At the same time this method will allow players to gain more skill more quickly by understanding their champion more, and therefore become able to focus on other game-play mechanics quicker.
This will allow new players to still have access to the champion rotation and be obligated to try new champions every week, but not feel the pressure of being pushed around or forced into new champions when they loved one from the previous week. Plus since IP gain is much less at lower levels, it can be much harder to obtain even a 1350 IP champion(though there are cheaper champions) and will also add a lot of pressure to them. Three Bookmarked champions will open the door for comfort, while not completely letting them in, thus creating a perfect balance of learning experience, comfort, and trying out new things all into one pretty package.
