Yeah I know... I went 5 - 5 in placements but went from my preseason gold 5 to bronze 5 haha. Not too upset because I can carry bronze and silver games pretty well I just think it's a little dumb that you can drop so much

Huh. I went from silver 2->Bronze 1 after placements and my MMR was pretty mediocre... placements went 5/5 too.

Silver IV to Bronze IV. Not mad because I can climb out easily, it's just embarrassing to be bronze for two months
happens, my lowest ranking smurf was plat 5 and I did terribly in placments but still got placed in mid gold so it's a testiment of your MMR last season moreso than the number you get
My only guess is your mmr was terrible at the end of the season. I went 3-7 and got silver 5. My buddy went 2-8 and got silver 5. He duoed with a guy who went 1-9 and got bronze 1. (we were all gold 5 at the end of the season). If I were you I would wait 3 months and then have fun melting kids in bronze 5 and up. Right now ranks are still messed up so its not as much fun. Plus then you would climb a lot faster.

Your MMR must have been intensely bad - did someone carry you to gold V and then you played a bunch losing more than winning?
Preseason doesn't count for much. You were probably low silver at the end of season that's why you got placed in B5.
Wow...I assume you get matched up (fairly) even so 5/5 drop to B5 seems kind of unfair imo....

Weird, I was gold V as well, went 6-4 in provisional and I end up in...gold V. I kinda wanna switch with you tho, since my skill's around silver IV at best, I got carried to where I am, and I can't play against my current opponents.
Then again I don't wanna face troll teammates stuck at the bottom of the division pit...
Edit: was refering to my account in asia since that's where I am atm, but I assume the system functions the same way.
