Nasus Q VS Spellshields

One thing. Nasus Q. The ability with the power to wreck your adc, midlaner, top lane or anyone without a massive amount of health in just a few shots. I've been playing Nocturne and Sivir as two of my strongest champions for a long time. Their mobility is great, their damage is nice, but the best part about them that rounds them out as champions are their ability to block spells. Any ult any stun any slow any anything...except a Nasus Q. So i want to hear it from someone, no one in particular, but someone with the knowledge as to why this is. In these matchups here's the scenario. You're playing sivir farming bot lane, before recalling for that juicy Phantom dancer, right when Nasus teleports in behind you. Option A: continue recalling and pray you make it out. Option B: Run for the hills and hope you make it. And here's the problem, while option A sounds good it's still a pretty sad option, and option B; this requires you to either blow everything to run or predict the Whither and claim you're a magician. Sounds like fun right. So why. the two champs unique to the game with spellshields can they not block this ability? With a fed or farmed nasus it makes it impossible to win trades when you rely on being able to negate costly abilities to survive.

I'm not asking how to counter it or outplay it, I'm simply asking why this ability cannot be blocked, or is made to be this way.

Here's a thumbnail for reading this >>>--- Nasus---|>

You meant his W if you're talking about the Wither. Well, if he comes in range, use your shield and gain some distance. Also no it's a targeted ability, it's hard to predict, and if he is a good Nasus he will kill you anyway

Sivir/Nocturne's shield won't block incoming physical damage. Nasus's Q is simply increased physical damage: ACTIVE: Nasus's next basic attack within 10 seconds gains bonus range and deals bonus physical damage.

If you are Sivir or Nocturne they can both easily escape nasus. Sivir can spell shield and ult, by the team spell shield has worn off you will be far enough from Nasus that he cannot wither you, and if he does wither you, your spell shield will simply block it. Nocturne can shield and Q for the increased move speed and out run Nasus.

Regardless, as a Sivir, or any adc, you should not be in a position where Nasus can easily reach you.

Nasus's Q isn't technically an 'ability', it just empowers/buffs/supercharges his next basic attack with some special effects, which is why spellshields don't do anything for it. That spellshield will however protect you from whither or spirit fire, so theres not much room for complaint as Q is the ONLY ability that can't be completely blocked, plus Sivir has plenty of elusiveness built into her kit that you shouldn't be eating that many Q's unless your positioning was poor or Nasus is really good, which in either case you're already dead. lol
