Match-Making is a little flawed

So I played a game of league in blind pick with my friend who is lvl 8,(btw I'm bronze 3). I was playing and i couldn't hit my w like at all on the i was playing against, she had such fast reaction speed, and something was up. I find out later that person is a Plat 5... It could have been that person was matched with the who is lvl 5. However even then it feels like it is unfair when that happens and it doesn't help make the game enjoyable at all. Really want to be changed sometime soon, there is like no counter play towards her in low elo.
