A quick rant about the current meta
I kinda feel like Riot is hearing us but not listening.
League of Legends has been slowly but surely becoming a stale game.
It's hard to pinpoint but I and many many others have been struggling to have fun playing League of Legends as champions dont really feel all that unique anymore, the few that DO feel unique(minus a few outliers) seem to get nerfed down to dry husks.
I get that champion balance is tough, but to put it in very simple terms(im tired) basically the overall power budget for champions feels significantly lower than 2 years ago.
ADC's all feel very very samey(somewhat to be expected but cmon guys), especially with the top tier ADC's being hypercarries, most with mobility, while Ashe is still sitting in the "well i guess im viable" box for the past 2-3yrs.
Supports are probably the most diverse atm, but only about 4 of them are considered strong picks and they're completely outshining the others, not just because they're strong but because the others just have lower power levels(Janna and Sona need quite a few more tweaks imo).
Top Lane is probably in a better spot than before, but I cant say that for myself since i barely touch top lane unless im jungling. What I can tell from a Junglers POV, is that top lane is getting significantly harder to gank with the mobility meta and the shift to allowing top laners that are both abusive AND safe when pushed to tower.
Jungle I could talk about for hours, but I understand that there are some changes coming in the preseason to alleviate how stale it is atm so I'll hold my tongue... for now.
Mid... I dont know if it's just me, but it seems everyone is an assassin these days and many picks are pushing others out of viability(btw, Orianna needs looking at)
My biggest issue with the way LoL is right now(apart from Minion aggro -_-), would have to be the abundance of mobility.
Mobility just isnt that special anymore and if you dont have it, it instantly makes you significantly less viable unless you have something absurd to balance you out. My hope for next season is that mobility as a whole gets looked at and toned down.
