Countering a rengar as an adc

i feel like rengar players always get fed. I am bronze and I main ADC. I don't usually feed and you can search me up on op,gg my username is JustWaitForIt. I had a really toxic really bad trundle top lane. He fed a rengar 7 kills. I was playing caitlyn adc and i had a really hard time in teamfights. I couldnt trust my team because they are bronze monkeys. The rengar would just kill me everytime and i was beginning to get a lot weaker. I cant run into my team because they wouldnt peel me from the rengar and if i ran away rengar would just flash for me. The rengar wasnt building armour pen he had a youmuus and a titanic hydra. I bought a dead mans plate along with a mercurial as my last item. Every time he ulted i just ran away it was so awesome. My team ended up winning at 25 minutes... GG

ADC's won't really be able to 'counter' an assassin. Your best bet is to keep a pink ward with you and throw it down when the ! comes up so you can see him in stealth. Someone who is mobile like Lucian or Vayne or Tristana might have a better chance than others. However, killing the squishy ADC is sort of what assassins are meant to do.

If you can't trust the team to peel for you, bring exhaust with you instead of entrusting it to your support. Grab a banshee or GA to keep yourself safe as you farm to get full build, which by then you'll have enough dmg and attack speed to hurt him with flash and escape utility at hand.

If all else fails, grab zzrot and banner.

Get Bloodthirster for the shield (and sustain if you survive getting chunked).

Get Guardian's Angel or Randuin's Omen to mitigate/survive his burst damage.

Grab a Sweeper to use when you think he is approaching you (so your team can see him to land CC).

Do not wander away from your team. Don't overextend or splitpush alone. Sit beside whoever is able to peel for you.

Don't single yourself out. That's pretty much asking for a free death wish.
if you just want to run away and/or use skillshots to stop him, otherwise a good ol will do.
Armor, or just anything defensive. I remember ADCs getting those and actually don't die.
Pick something that can mash a button to stop him and/or run away, or something that can easily 1v1 especially since many Rengars go squish build.
