What happened to AP Corki???

Ap Corki mid used to be played in LCS but what happened to it?? I feel like it's still viable and definitely not a bad pick. Imo its underplayed but it has potential because of the poke and farm. (also insane damage) The package also has synergy with ap and is great for playmaking. Any thoughts on it for the pro scene or any other elo?

The problem with AP Corki is that now there is no reason to go AP when even when building AD, more than half of your damage is magic. Just go AD, you get all the benefits from an AD build (sustain, better sustained damage) while still getting many benefits from an AP build (burst, magic damage)

It's a good alternative. His Q has been nerfed in QoL and other things since S5, but it still functions as a good clear/poke pre 6. I think AP Corki is more susceptible to dying more because he won't have sustain. But it's completely ruled out by building Sorc Boot > Morello/Liandry's > Rylai > Rab > Void > Situational Item.

It's just one of those situations where something's perfectly viable but nobody really plays it.

I've actually thought about playing AP Corki! It sounds completely legit and viable. I don't know why people don't do it. :(

Mmh, he scales better on AD on all spells except on Q and W (not empowered), which is hardly a damage tool. Building straight ADC damage on him while integrating Sorcerer Boots and Void Staff for MPen makes him a super-strong magic damage dealer with all the aspects of his kit enhanced (since his R has been buffed a lot for late game if you build AD). The AD-MPen build is just optimal imho.

Not to mention that he's probably the best champion in the game for Thunderlord's since he builds both AD (which is the stat the keystone scales better with) and MPen, which allows its damage not to fall off.

I don't see why you should go for AP corki. Go AD and still do 75% magic damage with decent autoattack power AND poke. Get voidstaff then, #yolo

his ad scalings on his r are higher than his ap scalings now.

ive tried it on an aram, and ap corki is weaker than ad corki in every aspect. including his spells.
