Bronze life is tough. I would like to see the stats on the average rank/tier of those punished.. I guarantee most of us are Bronze.. People down here just don't give a #### and it is really hard not to fire back sometimes when you are baited and trolled. I dealt with my 10 game chat restriction and as far as I can remember haven't had any issues since. Because of this, I can't participate in hextech crafting.. despite the fact that I have played since S1, have all but 11 champs and have over 1000 positive notes on my account between "Friendly/Helpful/Teamwork/Honorable Opponent".... They chat restricted me for 4 bad games over a 3 day period that I probably played 20-30 games and probably got trolled about 10-15 times and blew up in 4 of them.
What about the 1000+ positive comments.. do they weigh nothing? What about the hundreds of dollars and thousands of hours.. nothing? What about the hundreds of Tribunal cases I have reviewed? Yup... still nothing. I was negative in 4 games.. so I don't deserve any hextech loot...
The worst part of it? Not only do I not get loot.. I get slapped in the face EVERY game over it when the "You are ineligible to earn loot due to previous behavior problems". It is honestly making me frustrated enough to revert to toxicity.. Why should I give a "F" about what I say if I am not gonna earn loot either way.. I have played since S1.. most days it is not hard to walk the line between jerk and reportable jerk if I so choose.. It is also even easier to be normal, nice, and supportive. However, the problem with me is that I have an "F me? F YOU!" attitude and disposition.. And right now.. Riot has decided to "F" me.. so I guess I will just play with an "F" it attitude for now.

100% this, i it's been about 3 weeks since i was banned for 2 weeks for blowing up in 3 games also. i don't know what i'm doing wrong now, but my friends are earning them while i get slapped, and i feel like god honest i'm just gonna Quit cause this is more than disrespectful, i don't wanna change and be positive. when my team is toxic and earns rewards but i don't. reform what?
DOES RITO KNOW WHAT A BRONZE 5 GAME LOOKS LIKE? come to a bronze 5 game, sit in some and see what reformed people have to deal with and see why we rage or go afk to have a smoke break or grab a beer and walk outside for a moment, it's stressful and when i get home off work i don't need more stress. this game needs an age restriction area, like runescape, if you are under a certain age you can't use the chat, only Quick chat which is pre made in this case they could make it ping only, but i want answers on this issue. or soon i'm sure people are just gonna make bronze not real with how many people QUit, which would be something else.

But also - please keep in mind that the people you are playing the game with are not the people that are "f-ing" you. They are random people, some of them probably getting shafted just like you are. They don't make the game, they don't balance the game, they didn't make hextech crates. So before you get toxic with players and rage at them just remember that it's not like it makes the game any better. It makes whoever you bullied rage in their next game. And another person after that. If you really want to shove it in Riot's face send them a review ticket or something. Uninstall. Stop buying their skins (whatever it is you feel like doin lol). But don't make other people miserable because a company doesn't have their shit together.

If Riot don't punish toxic people they're told they're doing nothing, then when they encourage good behaviour by letting the community know that they'll miss out on good stuff if they behave badly they're told that they're making people worse. If they ban toxic people, they're told they're banning too freely and need to stop taking accounts off people who've spent time/money on this game.
What do you want them to do with toxic people? They seem to be wrong no matter what they're doing.

DrCyanide7 votesIt might be tied to the 3 months to drop a punishment tier. So 3 months after you got the 10-game chat restriction you'd be eligible for Hextech Crafting, if you got to a 25-game chat restriction it would take 6 months, and if you hit the 2-week ban it would take 9 months.
Pure speculation, but it would make things nice and convenient on Riot's side to keep organized (rather than different punishment systems for each).

yeah but the announcement for it going live says "No. Players who are chat or ranked restricted or currently banned from play cannot earn or unlock chests through Champion Mastery. Once they’ve reformed, they’ll be eligible for rewards again."
It doesn't mention anything about waiting a period of time after.

You can't honestly try and compare this to criminal charges, while yes its wrong to be toxic, it is in no way criminal. I worked for people who are way bigger douchebags than the people in this community and I still cant compare them to criminals.

For those who don't know what that was, there was a time when Riot Lyte would patrol the League forums for people asking why they were banned and then post the chat logs for the game that they were banned by. It would then be proceeded by 100+ people saying "OHHHHH SMITED BY LYTE YOU TOXIC BITCH" (only a slight exaggeration).

I haven't gotten a chat restriction or any kind of punishment since then because I do not wish to be banned again. After a month of trying hard to follow what my elementary school teacher taught me, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all," the only thing its gotten me is a penalty for being toxic awhile ago. I'm not sure who had the idea to punish the people with previous restrictions by allowing them to not earn rewards, but whomever/whatever decided that was the best way to go just made League of Legends more toxic.
It's like if a player obtained less LP for a win in ranked because he/she had a restriction in his past. Is that justice? No, its just a way to piss someone off and make them more eager to be toxic later on. That player earned his/her end game reward. He/She worked together with his/her team and won the match, he/she shouldn't get less of a reward on a team based game because he/she was the one "criminal" in the group that said mean things once before.
This isn't justice in any way, shape, or form. Riot, please just focus on balancing champions and not balancing people.

This is the same kind of shit I wrote about when my "main" account was in bad standing. Being reported by a 4 man team for "trolling" because they were asses would get me 30+ games chat banned, because I was a "bad player". I wanted to recover the account since I had it since beta, but after getting 125 game chat banned I just intent fed for as long as possible until it got perma banned (to make a point, it took WAAAAAAAAAY longer to get banned for intent feeding than it did to get chat restrictions), then made a new account. I realized no matter what I did a SINGLE troll team would send me to "jail" for weeks and it wasnt worth it.
WHEN YOU MAKE REFORMING HARDER THAN LEVELING PEOPLE WONT REFORM.

It almost makes me feel like there's no point in even trying to better myself. What's the point if it's gonna be three whole months, not even taking into account the fact they already reset your honors and pretty much hold the permabanhammer over your head for a good half a year. I understand there needs to be punishments, but for months after? Why bother playing?

To do something like this way after the fact is just unnecessary punishment and does not encourage good behavior in a player that has already been corrected. If anything it is toxic of riot to do something like this.

I remember commenting on something about season rewards for season 4, how they instated a reward for never getting chat restricted all season. They announced this a few months before the end of the season I believe. You would think that everyone would have a clean slate from that moment and violaters after the announcement would be punished accordingly and everyone would be entitled to the reward they just found out about. Instead, anybody who received a chat restriction or greater would get no rewards outright.
To put that in perspective, you download a movie (for instance). There is no legislation about that certain type of downloading being piracy or otherwise. One day, a law is passed calling that way of downloading piracy. Because you downloaded before that date, you are exempt from prosecution due to ex post facto law. This is pretty common practice in most governing bodies, so I wonder if Riot overlooks this intentionally because they aren't a governing body (except they kind of are when you consider that they are setting up a system of punishment, albeit an automated one that often makes mistakes) or if there is some internet legislation that doesn't require them to abide by American law even though they are an American company. Granted this isn't unlawful, but it is a super scum-baggy practice
