first time buying one. my mouse atm is broken like hell. It was a vx nano logitech 800 dpi. Way too slow for kiting imo. Which dpi would better for quick plays like kiting and moving camera while unlocked? 2400 or 3200?
It's really a personal preference. Some people like to play with low sensitivity (and so low dpi) since they find it allows for much more precise movement and fewer misclicks, while others like high sensitivity (high dpi) just since they don't have to move their mouse as much so they can potentially do things slightly faster, albeit at greater risk of overshooting and misclicking.
I personally roll with 9000 dpi since I'm a high sensitivity fan, but plenty of people touch my mouse and are 'wtf is this, this is unplayable', and theres pros who use either end of the spectrum.
Personally I think 800dpi of difference isn't noticeable.
Not to mention every gaming mouse should come with dpi settings, so if the price isn't that much different (I'd say, you are mostly paying for the brand anyway*), you should get the higher dpi and find out which suits you better.
In the end it doesn't matter. You will get used to either setting after a day.
* - Got myself a 4k dpi mouse that glows like a freaking rainbow for ~25$ and the next one with nearly the same setting (though, it was 5k, I think) was priced 4 times that.
I play on 6400 and really like it.
