Disparity between solo and party IP makes me feel like quitting

It's like Eve Online... the advantage of being in a corporation far outweighs that of being a solo player. It kinda pushes me away from the game.

I play at odd hours too apart from friends and do not wish to add random people as friends in order to compete. It's sad that a premade 5 can earn almost 5 times the IP of a solo in the same amount of time. It's 5 times! I wouldn't mind if it was 2 times or something less.

Discuss. It's discouraging to play so much more and yet gain meagre amount of IP compared to someone who manages to get a group to play with consistently. =(

Party rewards are just temporary, and you can invite random people from previous games without adding them to take part while it lasts.

Around the start of almost every season you can get 2for1 rune pages (which includes purchases with ip), so buying a complete 20 pages with ip is much more doable if you save up ip and buy at those times (which I've done despite only being at it for 2 years-ish). That said, I've had a hard time realistically using more than 10 pages, so bargain hunting like that can make your ip go somewhat further.

Regardless though, I know 'more' feels better for most people who don't already have literally everything buyable with ip, and as someone who typically solos I feel your pain. IP piles up pretty quick if you're not paying attention to it (e.g. after going on a ranked stint where your focus is on LP) so maybe try doing a bunch of ranked or focusing on getting mastery 5 with a champ to take your mind off the IP aspect until IP rewards are back to normal.

Did Riot really come out to say the party rewards are temporary? If that's the case, then I don't have any gripes with it. But if it's permanent- that amounts to a lot of IP differences between a solo and a player with a consistent team.

In particular: "Party Rewards will go live in new champ select queues only (dynamic ranked and normal draft) starting Wednesday, January 27 to the end of the day on January 31."

It's over in 2.5 hours.

The Party IP Bonus is just to promote the Dynamic Queue system for the players, and probably so Riot can gather data on it for improvements. It's not going to be like that forever, then nobody gets it. Will nobody getting bonus IP make you happy?

You act as if IP gains have a direct correlation with your ability to win. It doesn't. Between leveling 1-30 you have plenty of IP to buy runes and rune pages enough to be competitive.

I never said it's related to winning/losing. But I would love to have the ip to try out weird rune builds for certain champs... and maybe have a chance to buy a complete 20 rune pages set. 5 years of playing League and I still am missing crucial runes for some champs- If I could, I only really wanted to dedicate time for about a game or 2 per day.

The problem you're having is with the grind, it has nothing to do with other people getting more IP than you. There are plenty of people to play with, go to various channels to get a pug going.

You're really whining just for the sake of whining.

It isn't whining... Like I said- whereas I could buy a champ with IP in about slightly over a month. Said player could buy his champ in less than a week. This disparity multiplies on. You can say it does not make a difference if he has more champs.

But this game is about the champs and variety of champs. Number of champs u own can indirectly affect the amount of enjoyment u can get out of the game.

"almost no effort" - this opinion is subjective.

I'm merely saying it's "discouraging". =( I looked at my match history... 70+ ip ... 70+ip... 70+ip... while I looked at my friend's match history... 200+ip... 300+ip... 300+ip.... 200+ip.... =(

Like in this gbay's video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YA3e_Ti7Zns

I feel that time will be better spent playing a game that values the solo player.
