How does this make ANY sense riot?

Soon, players will dust off their keyboards and dive into the queues for another year of competition. We want everyone ready for the coming battles so we’re putting some of the ranked essentials on sale to help you prepare. ^ This is what the text says in the post. How can you PREPARE for a new ranked season when the sale starts AFTER the ranked season starts? How does this make any sense to anyone? Shouldn't the sale be going for this weekend? http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/store/sales/prepare-2015-season-kickoff-sale

you don't have to start playing ranked right when the season begins? just like you could still play ranked while it was off season.....

My point is why are you so bothered by it? Rune sales is a great thing on or off season .....
