The hit box is as wide as the tail of the arrow

Hitboxes are weird.

Rand0mH3r0X2 votes

That tiny sparkle barely overlapping your e, that's the hitbox.

Walker Ward12 votes

No, the fire shield does not represent annie's hit box

Rand0mH3r0X4 votes

Obviously, it's a box.

Nor does her model apparently

neither does the actual arrow represent its hitbox. its a lot wider.

annies hitbox and the arrow hitbox probably intersected by 1 pixel or something like that. her molten shield might actually align with her real invisible hitbox.

hitboxes in league are fucking weird and never aligned with the actual projectile animation or the champion model. they all use invisible circular hitboxes that are often larger than the models.

the one for the arrow might be rectangular, but still larger than what you can see.

As others have said, that's not Annie's hitbox. Also there's no particle overlap.

we dont really know what annies hitbox looks like, because theyre all freaking invisible.

her molten shield might actually overlap with her hitbox. its off putting. this game needs a hugeass rework when it comes to hitboxes and their readability.

its even worse with flying champions since their character models are additionally displaced from their hitboxes. you need to aim a little bit lower for them than would be intuitive.

Reiteration is low-key annoying.

I'm merely referencing that commonly a hit box only ever physically manifests with outlines on particles. For champions it's sometimes a dark black outline.

More importantly, look at the dust tail of the arrow, that's more of it's real size of the hit-box. Anybody else reading this please understand that, considering all the givens, the information presented the conclusion is that the arrow should've hit Annie sooner, but for whatever reason on OP's side, Annie's position isn't correct, because not even the particles following Annie line up.

Eternal Torment2 votes

ashe arrow is tricky like that. when you Play her, look at the cast of her R, that width you see is her hitbox. her arrow annimation is a Little thin, that is a given. riot should maybe either thin out the hitbox or give the arrow a more Fitting animation that shows us The hitbox

Mokomo1 votes

The problem is that there's a full annie between the arrow and the character. I literally didn't flash because it passed by me for a split second and then hit me when it was half way past

Eternal Torment1 votes

i literally just said "i know, the hitbox is tricky like that because of the arrow animation" watch carefully when ashes arrow flies, it rotates during it's flight path but sometimes you get to see the max width of the tip. that width applies to THE ENTIRE ARROW LENGTH and is a good 3 champion's thick in prospective hitbox

Gone by Night1 votes

Ashe's arrow's hitbox starts from like half way of the thing... First part is just there are visual effect.

That's mostly because Annie has a really small model.

This Is Your Dad2 votes

Actually Ashe's arrow is made of ice, so it shatters. It's not broken.

Skorch2 votes

I mean isnt it spinning, while dumb, at full width I believe it makes sense.

Gubaguy2 votes

You wanna talk about bad hitboxing first look at every single hook champion, and nids spear, becuase that spear has a hitbow that takes up half the lane and its stupid. As for hook champs, no i dont care that they will miss more often without the spaghetti code pulling the hooks into champions, its called a SKILL SHOT, get some skill and dont flash that lvl 7 mastery when you land a hook on me form half a lane away because rito thinks you need a crutch.

Thewannabegamer3 votes

Nid spear is easy to dodge. In fact so easy to dodge people lost their shit a lil bit when it's newer hb came out. It was needed but maybe learn to not dodge in straight lines?

Dr Poro3 votes

Actually, the only way to move is in staight lines.

Even when im clearly not being hit im being hit, and when i show video proof of it people claim its the camera angle messing with me and to 'git gud' but then when i show video proof that -I- hit someone in the same way they claim i didnt and that im lying...

Example: https://youtu.be/ggcOE6v62aA

Thewannabegamer1 votes

Well considering this has nothing to do with my statement -1. Never claimed spaghetti code didn't effect these things. You used nid spear as an example of something with a broken hitbox. I responded with it's a tiny af hitbox. Also i don't think hook's pull people into them there are just some blitz skins and thresh in general who's hook model don't accurately represent the size of the hitbox which is an issue but a different issue.

Gubaguy1 votes

Hooks are fine right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-LEiC_95Yc

100% not broken right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5FwK3tWKP8

This stuff doesnt happen and the game isnt a buggy mess, and thats why hooks arent a problem, right: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6F1ZuwDdp8

Thewannabegamer1 votes

Like i said it's a consistent size the model just doesn't match the animation. It's a totally different issue.

Edit: Also look at the shadows and the position of the hook in some of these. Shadows are actually the most accurate representation of HB in the game. The Vayne one is also totally legit and goes between minions to clip her.

FilDaFunk2 votes

It does seem to have hit - the hitbox is wider that the particle and also consider Annie's hitbox.

Aethari1 votes

{quoted}

the hitbox is wider than the particle

That's the entire issue.

Dr Poro2 votes

I think the graphics should be updated to be broader rather than the hitbox smaller.

Ashe Arrow is the spaghetti code embodied. Sometimes it hits when it should miss sometimes it passes right through people cause it didn't feel like it.

invisiblecat11 votes

You should also see Jinx rocket It will slightly miss you, and then somehow the explosion is centered around you

Okg111 votes

Ashe's arrow spins around it self on it's way to hit a target, and in this specific picture it's sides line vertically with each other which makes it look like it's far from you, anyway, the visual representation of some abilities isn't 100% accurate ( Thresh's hook ), so the title should actually be : Ashe's arrow animation is broken, they can make it a little bit more accurate on the account of making it less flashy and make it no loner spin around itself .

Thewannabegamer1 votes

It's more then the anim it has a habit of occasionally just going through people and not hitting. Sometimes it turns invis. There are a few issues with it.

xelaker1 votes

you did take this picture at the thinnest graphical point of ashes ult since it rotates. It's still not dead on, but the arrow head is pretty darn close when it's flat side up.

WorstRivn1 votes

the arrow flew next to you that fast that the wind generated by it froze you
